✨ Did someone say SPARKLE? ✨

I am gearing up for a festive NYE complete with club bed + DJ pillow :p hehe What can I say, my boo + I aren’t big party people so we will be enjoying watching the ball drop in our pjs following a romantic dinner. Even though we are just heading to dinner, I love to get dressed up + make a splash (or should I say…sparkle hehe) so I will be rocking this look for New Year’s Eve.

I have been wanting a sequin blazer FOREVER + when I got this beauty I fell in love. My BF looked at me like I was crazy but I assured him with the right outfit…it will work 😉

I had to let the blazer do the talking so I paired it with my trustee lace trim camisole (a perfect layering piece for every gal’s wardrobe) + faux leather leggings. These leggings are my absolute FAVORITE. I wear them for date night, girl’s night + all the time basically – they are flattering on pretty much every body type + can be dressed up or down for any occasion.

For some added ‘bling‘ factor I pulled the whole look together with my fav Gucci Pearl Belt (another must-have if you ask me :p).

As I always say, you can’t go wrong with a classic Chanel flap bag + some rockstud pumps, so here they are!

This week has been gloomy in LA, causing me to stay cuddled up in doors and in my comfy clothes while packing up my entire apartment to move this weekend. Moving is beyond stressful, why? Because now I have begun actually sifting through my closet and separating pieces I want to bring, pieces I am going to list on Poshmark (follow my closet + sign up with code ‘MISSYONMADISON‘ for a $5 credit towards your first purchase), + pieces I am going to donate…kinda reminds me of the Sex and The City movie where Carrie is giving up her apartment to move in with Big and her and the girls dance around to Aerosmith while making their Take or Toss piles haha. Basically was me today, minus the girls BUT I am going from my own place to a new place with my boo so I feel Carrie’s struggle with attempting to downsize her wardrobe although I now have my own office with TWO walk in closets :p Every bloggers DREAM ♥

Anyways…after we are all moved in to our new place, I am looking forward to a much needed date night + with LA’s gloomy weather to kick off spring, I wanted to share one of my signature go-to looks for a night out! Whether you are heading to happy hour with friends, dinner with your boo or a late night movie, I LIVE for these Hue Leatherette Leggings because they suck you in, accentuate your curves + match with any top for any occasion.

I seriously LOVE these leggings, I have been posting about them for years (#notsponsored lol) + I never get sick of them, not to mention the quality makes them durable to last for years of wear. I have been wanting to try the whole patent liquid pants trend from this past season, but I always go back to my trustee Hue ones (what can I say, I am a creature of habit hehe :p)

For a night out I pair them with a sheer top like this one + I wear a bralette or bandeau under it to avoid showing too much skin (definitely not risque enough to do the whole ‘free the nipple‘ trend haha). It’s a great way to dress sexy but also look classy and put together if it’s a dinner date etc.

I always wanted a pair of rockstud pumps however I still can’t get myself to splurge on expensive shoes (just bags haha) so these are a look a like version and I found a similar version from Sole Society here.

For this look, my bag was the splurge item. Date Night Style: Velvet + Leather…

Happy Humpday ya’ll!

Guess what is just around the corner…Valentine’s Day!! Normally I am not a lover of the holiday…well except for yummy chocolate + the ability to wear head to toe pink or red 😉 But this year I am excited for the day of love because Mike + I will be in Disney celebrating my birthday, our anniversary and Valentine’s Day! With major milestones like that, it means plenty of date nights so I need to switch things up from the traditional LBD I typically go for (which I love…trust me) :p

The perfect way to switch your date night look up? With some velvet + leather (or faux leather in this case) of course!!

ICYMI – I have been SWOONING over velvet for the past few months. Whether it is a dress, a top or even a skirt or bottoms (even shoes)…velvet has been my go to this season so it makes sense I would extend this to my date night look for Valentine’s Day as well.

I decided to pair this velvet tank with my fav fuzzy jacket that is a great alternative to a blazer or moto jacket (and it gives ya the warm + fuzzies hehe) 🙂

I rounded up some of my favorite velvet tanks below along with two similar fuzzy jackets that you will live in for the rest of the season!

Now I have a confession for ya…I LIVE for these Hue Leatherette Leggings. For years these have been my go-to for date night, girl’s night + beyond during the cooler winter months because sometimes skirts + dresses aren’t doable when a gal is freezing (or may not want to shave let’s be honest haha :p)

These faux leather leggings fit every body type like a glove, suck it all in (because sometimes we need that haha) + accentuates your booty – definitely a favorite with my bf hehe!

Hue is a great brand and I love how their items fit well + are great quality (also relatively affordable compared to Spanx etc).

My bag is Gucci and is a great mini bag to wear out for date night + beyond. It fits your keys, lipgloss, credit card + more, plus with the chain strap you can wear it as a cross body or shoulder bag or even a clutch with tucking the chain in!

These silver gladiator heels are great for year round wear + are pretty comfortable for wherever the night takes you.

Faux Leather + Faux Fur for the Holidays? Count me in! Whether you are heading out with friends before spending time with your family or maybe you just want to be dressed up for your family gathering, mixing faux leather + faux fur can be really chic for the holiday season. I feel like there is always a struggling when styling faux leather + faux fur because there is a fine line between classy / elevated + ~~cheap / tacky~~ looking haha :p I have learned over time that how you style trendy elements make all the difference, mixing high + low and not overdoing any one type of trend is crucial to a polished holiday look.

I have been a longtime fan of these HUE Leatherette Leggings…literally for years. They fit like a glove + are pretty flattering (along with being comfy) if you ask me 🙂 They can be dressed up or down…especially for the holiday season!
