ICYMI – I am in the full on holiday spirit, so that means I am sharing looks like this one that is perfect to wear for your next Holiday event, party or gathering. I love a chic velvet skirt for the holidays because there are so many various ways to style it + it is always appropriate. While I don’t have an office holiday party to go to this year, I always struggled with trying to find a corporate appropriate holiday look that was chic + festive…this velvet skirt checks all of those boxes!
I styled this skirt with a simple black camisole, little shawl + some festive feather heels.
I used to think shawls were a little old fashion…but now I am all about them to class up any look + make a slightly risque look a bit more conservative depending on the occasion. I am linking to some of my favorites below (not only do they keep ya warm in the cold winter months but they also help pull your entire look together).
As for shoes, I went with these festive feather heels. I love the fluffy heel look year round, but especially during the holidays – plus when wearing open toe they keep your feet a little toasty haha 😉
Tis’ the season to get dressed up + party! Whether you are heading to your work holiday party, family gatherings, night out with friends etc…I have rounded up the best of the best holiday styles that will have you festive, glam + chic all season long! From sparkly shoes to velvet dresses to glam handbags, these pieces will have you celebrating in style. I picked items from various retailers, price points + occasions…Enjoy ♥
With Thanksgiving this week + the holidays quickly approaching, it’s time to get your holiday party looks ready to go! My current obsession this holiday season? VELVET! All kinds – from handbags, to shoes to dresses to pants, tops, bodysuits + more, I am loving velvet + everything that comes in it!! I rounded up my favorite velvet pieces from some of my go-to retailers (which will be running amazing deals for Black Friday + Cyber Monday, so now is the time to snag these beauties). Ready to get your velvet on? 😉
Dresses
Searching for the perfect dress to wear to your office holiday party, family get together or NYE night out? Well, a velvet dress is the way to go! Honestly, I already stocked up on a few velvet dresses to wear this holiday season (including one velvet dress I fully intend on wearing to ring in 2018)!
I picked out a bunch of velvet dresses that range from long maxi styles to mini dresses + everything in between, this way there is an option for every event you will be heading to this season. A shorter style to wear out for happy hour (after spending a few too many days at home with the fam), a long sleeve mid-length dress appropriate enough to wear tooffice gatherings + some longer styles that work perfectly for a winter wedding.
Tops + Bottoms
If you aren’t a ‘dress person’ or you simply love velvet as much as I do + want to style it a few different ways, separates are a great option.
From a chic pair of velvet pants to a fun velvet body suit, mixing + matching velvet pieces with regular pieces can help you create a few different holiday looks without looking like a repeat offender! My personal favorites are these velvet pants + this velvet body suit.
Bags
My favorite part of any outfit? The shoes + bag…duh! Velvet bags are all over the place this season, from Gucci to Rebecca Minkoff, there are all types of velvet bags to rock this season at all price points! Which one am I lusting after? The Gucci Marmont bag of course hehe :p
Shoes
Ohhh the shoes…I love these velvet beauties so much. From over the knee boots to booties to heels + more, I fully plan on rocking velvet shoes well past the holiday season #sorrynotsorry. I mean, how could you not? They are so chic + stylish…pretty sure I am in serious love with these gold velvet booties from the Chrissy Teigan x Revolve collab.
P.S. A lot of the styles above will be going on sale starting tomorrow for the Black Friday + Cyber Monday sales on Revolve, Nordstrom, Macy’s + more!
Happy Monday! I am currently writing this at 1am because I kind of spent my entire weekend relaxing which left the blogging to last minute procrastination (oops :p). Any who, don’t mind me if I begin to ramble or seem a bit delirious while writing this post haha…You may wonder what I spent the weekend doing that lead to this late night post, well it’s simple…I officially got sucked in to Netflix. Yup, guilty as charged haha I have watched every episode of: Malcolm In The Middle, Family Guy, American Dad, Law and Order SVU, How To Get Away With Murder, Grounded For Like, The Office, 48 Hours, Dateline + now currently working on Last Man Standing (amazing show btw…Mandy is completely me, Mike Baxter is my dad + Eve is my little sister to a T).
My dad has been telling me to watch this show for years now + finally after exhausting all of my other go-to shows, I decided to give in + now I am obsessed (which pretty much happens to all things he recommends haha #ThanksDad). So there goes my weekend, watching my newest obsession + therefore me writing this Holiday Style Post at 1am while I am dosing off haha
One of my favorite trends to wear around the holidays is a great sweater dress. This sweater dress is from a year ago but I found two similar options below.
To make it a bit edgy, I layered over a faux leather moto jacket (a piece every gal should have in their closet to be completely honest) + I love that it really pulls the look together.
These nude caged heels have been a fav of mine since the summer + they match with absolutely everything.
My gold bag perfect for the holiday season is from Mezza Notte! I love the design + the chic look that makes it ideal for family get togethers, a night out + more.
Happy Monday Lovers! Today I’m kicking off a new ‘Guide’ series on the blog…I’ve already begun posting ‘Holiday Gift Guides’ to help you guys find the perfect gifts for your loved ones this holiday season but now comes the fun part…’How To Dress For The Holidays!’ Dressing for the holidays is always a tricky thing…you never know how fancy / dressed up to be and what should you wear to stand out without over doing it while still being respectful to your family members or friends whom you are spending the holiday season with? Well I’ve come up with a few different solutions starting with this lovely look featuring a statement making sequin skirt from Lord & Taylor available here on sale!To make this sequin skirt a little less dress I styled it with a peach button down blouse from Old Navy (similar one available from Tibi here. The best part? The button down can be worn for work as well so it’s not like your buying a blouse to only be worn once for a holiday dinner! I love any piece that can serve multiple purposes 😉 My holiday hair do? Simple yet chic…you can get my look by following my ‘Long Hair Don’t Care’ hair tutorial here! Now to break down my accessories…I love signature pieces of bling for every day life as well as holiday dressing. In this look I’m rocking a rose gold Marc by Marc Jacobs watch (which would make an awesome gift for the fashionista in your life BTW!) + a signature initial bangle (similar versions here + here…both make great gifts as well). My bag is a classic tote style from the Neiman Marcus collection from Last Call Neiman Marcus. It comes in a variety of colors but for this look I decided brown would be perfect (once again Thanksgiving festive but also practical to wear to the office or on the weekend). These heels are an oldie but a goodie…the Coach ‘Lavania’ Heel. They come in two different hues (both perfect for fall) black and taupe…you can shop them here from 6pm. (P.S. I’m selling these beauties on Poshmark here)If you are already beginning your hunt for perfect holiday gifts check out my guides:
