Hair Dreams with Hairdreams…

♥ Happy Labor Day ♥

I hope ya’ll are having a great 3 day weekend! I have been relaxing, BBQing + today I am prepping for my Access Hollywood appearance tomorrow – so nerve-wracking yet exciting haha :p I will fill ya’ll in with details of when it will air as soon as I have ’em! The most nerve-wracking part? I have to show up with my hair + makeup READY…like what?! I am going to be on national television and I have to make sure I look flawless…luckily I have a secret weapon that gives me the hair of my dreams…HAIRDREAMS!

Skincare Secrets with SheaMoisture…

Fall is just around the corner + that means it is time to switch up your skincare routine in preparation for the change in weather! Crazy to think summer is quickly coming to an end + that means it’s time to ‘fall ahead’ hehe to fall! With changing seasons comes a change in your hair, skin + makeup routine to match your fall wardrobe + the weather. I wanted to round up some of my favorite go to products that get me through the summer into fall months + hopefully you’ll try them + love them too!

MAKEUP

I LOVE some darker hues for fall paired with my go to neutrals. Whether it is a bold lip, a smokey eye or even a darker nail color, it makes me feel fierce with a side of sass 😉 hehe One of my MUST have essentials for any bold fall makeup look is mink lashes. I am currently loving a few different pairs from Private Label Extensions, the Ella, Lola + the Eden. Their lashes are 100% Mink -100% Hand Crafted -Double and Triple Layered!

SKINCARE

Skincare is so important year round, but especially when temperatures change + things begin to cool down. You need to make sure your skin is hydrated + well taken care of. I have learned over the years, the better you treat the skin, the more it thanks you 😉 One of my skincare favorites is the Mario Badescu Green Tea Facial Spray. I bring this EVERYWHERE. I have a large bottle at home + then travel size ones on me at all times. Whether I am on vacation, running errands or working, a little spritz makes you feel instantly refreshed!

HAIRCARE

Last but not least, haircare! After sun + chlorine damage from summer adventures, fall is a great time to take care of your hair + restore it back to it’s glory (I personally love this hair mask from Living Proof). While over the summer I tend to wear my hair in a bun or natural, in the fall and winter I love to do it up + my go to styling tool is the Beachwaver S1! This curling iron does wonders..why? It has a motor so the iron moves + does the curling for you…it cuts down styling time by almost half + it is the only iron I use on my hair anymore!

If there is one thing I learned over the years it is that your skincare is key! Ever since I was in middle school, I have been battling acne. When I was in middle school + high school it was acne on my face…primarily on my cheeks + forehead. Fast forward to now, my acne has spread from my chin + jaw line all the way to my chest, back + arms…UGH! Nothing is more frustrating than trying product after product with no visible results. What is a girl to do? Try one more line of products…and bam I found a winner!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the team behind my favorite skincare brand, La Roche Posay in person at a #DermClass they hosted with Dermstore. The event was beyond fun because it included an educational panel specifically talking about acne lead by Dermatologist Annie Chiu. Dr Chiu answered questions from attendees along with questions some of you shared with me on social!

I learned from her chat with us a few things and I am sharing them below!

1.Acne can affect people of all ages

2.While most people experience acne as teens, in adulthood it can continue but while as a teen acne is primarily found in your T-Zone area, as an adult it can spread to your chin, jawline + even your body all thanks to hormones

3.Acne scars should be combatted right away to prevent further deeper scars. Dr. Chiu’s suggestion was to see a dermatologist to go on either medication or try laser treatments. The longer it goes untreated, the worse it can be

4.While diet isn’t specifically tied to acne, if you live a healthy lifestyle it definitely helps when avoided acne

5.La Roche Posay products help combat acne without ever drying your skin (P.S. La Roche Posay was started in a hospital…who would have thought!
