Happy Friday Ya’ll!
I am BEYOND excited about today’s post because it features my first ever video from my YouTube channel. I have been wanting to create fun video content for a while now + finally took the plunge. This may be a short one but plenty more exciting ones to come!
ICYMI I have been OBSESSED with Keratin Hair Extensions for over a year now. My hair stylist got me hooked a year ago + I couldn’t imagine life without them ever since. A little back story, I have naturally fine, straight hair…making it nearly impossible for my hair to hold a curl even with a full can of extra hold hairspray (no joke :p it is that bad). Hair extensions have been my saving grace, allowing me to have my hair finally hold a curl + look flawless for events, outfit shoots + beyond.
Now not all hair extensions are created equal. I first dabbled with clip ins a while back + honestly I couldn’t handle them haha I had the toughest time putting them in (after countless attempts) + they gave me headaches + hurt my scalp. After complaining to my stylist of how uncoordinated I was when it came to using clip ins, she suggested I try the ‘Bentley‘ of hair extensions as she put it, Keratin Hair Extensions. I mean if she compared them to a Bentley she had me in – hook, line + sinker!
Clip ins are great for those who are beauty savvy in my opinion + like to constantly switch up their look. I was looking for a permanent solution to my fine hair + keratin extensions provided that.
It’s important to find a great stylist with experience installing these kinds of extensions. They must match your color so they look as natural as possible + also cut and style them to fit with your hair. Your stylist will also place them strategically so they are hidden as much as possible to keep them looking natural. I often have people not even notice I have them.
The process itself is pain free + easy. Your stylist uses a tool to melt the bond around your hair + over time the bond deteriorates from wash and daily wear so it falls out after 4-6 months. The duration the extensions last is dependent on how you take care of them + how fast your hair grows out. Mine typically last 5-6 months sometimes longer if I only wash my hair 3-4 times a week + brush my hair often to avoid knots + tangles.
I personally love Laced Hair because the hair is great quality + the bond melts nicely making them flush with my hair. They also are available in a ton of colors to match your natural hair color.
The keratin extensions allow for everyday wear + are low maintenance since they only need to be replaced 3-4 times a year. They can be pricey dependent on your stylist so just be prepared to invest a bit. I always say invest in your hair, it’s the crown you wear daily hehe :p
