After Memorial Day weekend comes the need for some much needed summer shopping and I am all ready to snag my top summer picks with the help of Lyst.com! Have you ever had that moment where you just feel like your wardrobe needs a total refresh? New accessories, clothing, shoes, bags? You just need it all right? Well what I LOVE about Lyst is that it helps you compile ‘Wish Lyst’s‘ of all of the pieces you want to add to your closet so that when you are ready to shop, all of your favorites are in one place…so it’s safe to say I went a little overboard when it came to creating my own ‘Summer Wish Lyst‘ which you can shop here BTW 😉 (you are welcome :p)
Creating your Lyst account is easy…just head over to Lyst.com and follow the prompts and build your profile. You can ‘Lyst‘ your favorite products into different categories and then go back and shop them whenever you are ready! How great is that?! Here is a sneak peek of what is in my ‘Summer Wish Lyst‘…
It’s 11pm and I am cracking up watching ‘Southern Charm‘ on Bravo (my guilty pleasure) as I am writing this post…If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it…it’s some high quality television (ok not really but it is pretty funny and I am thinking a southern man may be the type of guy I should be going after haha). Speaking of class and southern charm…today’s outfit post is a little outfit inspo for the spring of what to wear to the office. The second the temperature heats up in NYC it’s hard to dress both comfortably and appropriate (it’s a constant struggle…I want to show up in denim shorts and a tee but kinda can’t do that…ugh!) but today’s look accomplishes both :p
Someone has a case of the ‘Mondays‘….and it may just be me 😉 Safe to say I spent the weekend catching up on some cult classic movies…along with some shopping, girl time and cuddling with Charlie (my dog duh!)…didn’t have any exciting dating adventures this past weekend…I was suffering from a pounding headache and didn’t even get around to shooting new outfits (that means next weekend is crunch time ugh)…anyways on a happier note, I am excited to start actually dressing for spring…slowly but surely and my first spring essential? A killertrench coat like this one! PS It’s on sale at Nordstrom (woohoo!)
A trench coat is the perfect piece to get to transition into spring…it’s not as heavy as your winter coat + it is perfect to wear on those rainy spring days (hopefully they bring May flowers right?). Another key piece from spring (aka something you actually need year round) are these blue Ray Bans…they come with me everywhere I go and will definitely be brought to LA in a few months (I may not come back…#AGirlCanDream)
Another great way to ring in spring? With a bright pair of pants like these cobalt blue jeans (under $40 here!) and some chic nude pumps. I love nude pumps (I also styled them with some winter wear last week on the blog here) because they match with everything and really add that extra ‘sex appeal’ to every outfit. My Gucci Soho tote is the ideal transition bag because black is timeless and a great quality bag never goes ‘out’ of style.
I am determined to make it spring outside…I am over the slushy sidewalks, constant fear of snow screwing up my commute and the fact that it makes me sleepier than usual (case in point I am practically falling asleep while writing this…in case you didn’t know, I write my posts the night before they are published…9/10 times I am wrapped in a towel with wet hair laying on my bed having the constant battle in my head of whether to write the post or pass out…clearly we see what won…writing the post haha) I LOVE color year round, so it’s no surprise that for one of the freezing days at NYFW I decided to wear shades of white, blue and black (all I am missing is gold and it could potentially be #The Dress…seriously didn’t understand that whole craze for all of 24 hours haha) Anyways…Back to what I am wearing and how it can transition perfectly into the spring.
I love everything about today’s look because all of the pieces can be worn in various ways. A faux fur vest is a great option to wear well into spring because it keeps ya warm without the bulkiness of a coat…what I did here to keep me warm, is simply layer it over my white boyfriend blazer (did I mention how much I love white blazers…pretty much love them more than black ones..clearly not traditional haha). And what matches with a white blazer better than white pants right? #Obsessed + For my ‘Pop Of Color’ a cobalt blue blouse…my favorite color for spring…summer…pretty much year round 😉
Accessories wise I kinda did ‘All Black Everything’ minus my navy suede OTK boots that is 😉 How great are they? I can’t believe I scored them on clearance at Nordstrom Rack (basically they were a present to myself when I ‘even exchanged’ the gift my mom got me for Christmas…hey it’s still a present right? :p) I have worn this black floppy hat in a few different outfit posts now…once in Florida by the pool, once with a chic red sweater and once with my snow day outfit. And of course my newest handbag investment…the Gucci Soho Work Tote…I seriously love it and wear it everyday to work…best bag for commuting <3
On a side note, I got my first ever facial at Sisley Paris in NYC last night and it was the BEST facial I ever got in my life…I left with my skin feeling rejuvenated, fresh and as soft as a baby’s bottom 😉 I can’t wait to go back and save up to own all of their products (maybe I will have to cut back on the shopping…hmmm #WhatIsAGirlToDo?)*Photos By Lydia Hudgens
Ok, yes…I am making a fashion ‘faux pas‘ today by wearing white in the dead of winter…especially with a light wash chambray shirt (gasp) I am getting a littlecrazy…what can I say 😉 I simply LOVE white jeans and pairing it with this light wash chambray shirt makes for the perfect combo for a Friday night. Whether it’s heading to the movies, the bar or even dinner…I love a great casual look that isn’t ‘plain’ or ‘sloppy’ looking…I call this…dressed up yet dressed down.My white jeans are from Old Navy but Charlotte Russe has great ones (which I actually ordered whilst I was writing this post haha) for under $30here. My light wash chambray shirt was an H&M clearance find forever ago (PS a little secret about this shirt…it constantly has to be steamed but I kinda refuse to do so…oops…just adds to it’s ‘casual’ vibe). So this Gucci ‘Soho Tote’ is actually my mom’s which she so kindly let’s me borrow from time to time…although I have my new Gucci ‘Soho Work Tote‘ that I’ve worn before (if you missed it I wore it here) I still have a thing for this bag as well #GucciAddict #SavingForAnother (#SorryNotSorry)!Anytime I wear white pants I feel it is almost necessary to go with a nude shoe and since we are trying to make a chambray top and white jeans a bit ‘dressy‘, why not pair the look with nude suede open toe booties like these ones from Nine West. Now don’t judge me but I actually ended up coincidentally wearing this look tonight (I am currently writing this post at 1am…and I know I will regret this in the morning but oh well) I went out, I lived a little and I worewhite…| Click To Shop My Look |
