I have been eyeing up the whole PVC legging trend for a while now + decided it was time to finally give in…so here we are! I have to admit when I got these leggings, I didn’t know if I could pull them off but once I styled them with this 2 in 1 Blazer Jacket + reptile mules, it was perfection. Also, I feel like a bad b**** when I am wearing them haha Lately, I have been feeling a little down so when I can put on an outfit that makes me feel confident, I call that a total win!
This seemingly ordinary blazer has some added features, a soft lined hoodie! So you can go from the gym to the office without needed multiple pieces to change into. The blazer is chic and professional and the hoodie is ideal for community, running out for a lunch break etc. You get 2 pieces for the price of 1!
I layered a simple black chiffon camisole under it + it matched perfectly with these PVC Leggings (which I highly encourage every gal to snag).
Ok, I am OBSESSING over these reptile mules. They are sold out but I found similar options here + here. I think they add a little sass + edge to every look.
This Gucci Soho Tote is an oldie but a goodie. I used to wear it all the time when commuting to the office in NYC. It is a great bag for the office or traveling + you can buy them from various second hand retailers since the style has been discontinued.
I hope ya’ll had a great weekend! My boo + I had some campaigns to shoot, we had a spooky movie night in + we headed to Six Flags…safe to say we had a busy weekend! There simply aren’t enough hours in the weekend, I feel like we always want to lay low + relax but then we end up keeping way too busy for relaxing haha :p anyone else experience the same thing?
Anyways…for casual weekends, I love to wear cute yet comfy outfits, just like this one. Nothing beats an easy shirt dress paired with a chic pair of boots (especially these OTK boots because they are genuinely as comfortable as can be). I have stocked up on a ton of shirt dresses + boots for fall – ICYMI my full fall boot guide is HERE.
What I love about rocking a shirt dress is you can style it various ways. While I wore it here with OTK boots, I have seen gals wear it over jeans + booties or with sexy heels for date night, the options are endless and that is what I look for when I had new pieces to my closet, are they versatile enough to style multiple ways + create numerous looks? Check!
I love a great pair of OTK boots. No matter how you style them, they keep ya warm + looking sexy haha I particularly like these ones because they have a chunky heel making them easy to walk in all day long. I actually wore these babies all around Europe last fall + winter. Safe to say these boots were made for walking…
This Gucci Soho Tote is an oldie but a goodie. I bought this baby back in NYC years ago + it was a perfect commuter bag to cary my laptop, essentials etc. I love the Gucci Soho collection although it’s becoming a thing of the past. I feel the style is classic + timeless, something that years from now will still look chic no matter what the current trend.
I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine didn’t go exactly as planned :p I was supposed to head to Universal and instead I ended up in urgent care with my eye swollen shut, my hands beyond swollen I couldn’t grip a pen + basically the worst allergic reaction EVER. All these years I never had an allergic reaction to anything BUT apparently you can experience it at any age…the culprit? An oral acne medication…who would have thought. So I spent the weekend attempting to recover from being a lobster lol…here’s to hoping this week goes a lot smoother than this past weekend.
This look was actually shot earlier Saturday morning before my allergic attack happened haha I was enjoying the sunshine + great weather + this cute white dress from Tart Collections – it is the perfect summer staple…a little white dress!
I layered a denim jacket over it…this one is my favorite from Old Navy (on sale now).
My bag was my first ever Rodeo Drive purchase right before I moved to LA 3 years ago…it’s a Gucci soho tote (they discontinued the soho collection last year (ugh so frustrating I know) but you can find some styles still available on eBay or the Real Real etc).
My wedges are from Marc Fisher and they are super comfortable to wear all day long. Plus the tan color matches almost every outfit!
Will you be adding these pieces to your summer wardrobe?!
Happy Tuesday Loves…and most importantly Happy National Handbag Day! ♥
If I got to come up with all of the national holidays, they would pretty much always center around handbags haha Honestly what holiday is better than one where we get to celebrate handbags in all their glory? Some may think my love for designer bags is a bit crazy (just ask my boyfriend haha when I spent over an hour in Chanel during our recent trip to Paris he was not enthused to say the least haha #oops – I mean come on…it was CHANEL in Paris – how did he expect me not to have a major OMGmoment? hehe :p)
In honor of this special day haha I am sharing some of my favorite bags I have invested in over the years + I am sharing my tips to purchasing the designer bag you have been lusting after (it can happen – trust me!)
The highlight of today’s post is my most recent purchase from my European excursion – my FIRST ever Chanel bag. I have literally dreamed of this moment for years + the fact that it finally happened in Paris of all places was like a fairytale moment for me haha (ok now I really do sound like a handbag addict #sorrynotsorry)
On the subject of dreaming of a certain bag, this brings me to my first designer bag tip…
1.Research + Save!
There are a ton of bags out there by a ton of designers with a ton of different functions. What I find most helpful when contemplating a big handbag purchase is to evaluate when I would wear the bag, what occasion, how often etc. When spending a pretty penny on a bag you want to make sure you get good use out of it. That’s why I typically wait a couple of months before purchasing + if my lust for the bag is still there, then it is meant to be.
I have dreamed of purchasing a classic style Chanel for years (I even set a goal for myself that I would be able to purchase one – without living out of a cardboard box hehe by the time I was 30). Why Chanel? Easy…it never goes on sale, it will always retain it’s value + other than Hermes (which is my next goal haha), it is pretty much the best of the best when it comes to an investment designer bag to purchase ♥
That brings me to this beauty…the Louis Vuitton Pouchette Metis. I have been lusting after this bag for a YEAR, yes no joke a year! When my boyfriend first got to London, I asked him to visit Louis Vuitton to see if it was available anywhere in the UK since I had been on waitlist status at LV in the US for months. Lucky enough…I got lucky in the good ole’ UK + the rest is…well history hehe and a good story!
Why was I lusting after this bag? Easy – it is a classic style that is perfect for everyday wear + because it is such a commodity to get your hands on now-a-days, it retains it’s value (yes ladies + gents, handbags are an investment :p)
This brings me to investing in a designer bag Tip #2…
2.Carefully choose your style!
This may sound silly, but this ties back to tip one…it is quite important to think carefully before picking you color, pattern or print of bag. For example, Gucci has been very eclectic lately…meaning the bags are brightly colored with funky patterns etc. Those styles are a trend, they will not be in style 5 years from now (let alone a year from now) however, a simple black Chanel bag or signature monogram Louis Vuitton will rarely got out of style since they are classic styles that aren’t ‘trendy‘ per say :p
Tip #3…
3.Bigger is ALWAYS Better!
Hey now, get your mind out of the gutter hehe I am referring to the size of the…bag! Do you ever go to the movie theater + the person at the concession stand tells asks you ‘Would you like to upgrade your combo to a large for just $.50 more?‘ 9 times out of 10 you say yes don’t ya? Why? Because it’s a no brainer, for a little amount more you get double the serving. Funny enough, that same logic applies to purchasing a designer bag.
I didn’t start buying ‘smaller’ designer bags till this last year – after I already invested in larger bags that have tons of room + functionality. Usually the next size up when it comes to designer bags varies between a few hundred dollars, so if you are iffy on whether you need the extra space or not, I always say GO FOR IT! I have never heard anyone regret going a little bit bigger + having the extra room.
Funny enough – my first job when I was 14 was scooping popcorn at my local movie theater (so I used to have to up sell everyone to a large combo haha) Anyways, with all of those up sells, I would get a $.25 commission added to my paycheck…I saved up all of those checks to purchase my first Dior bag the summer before I started high school! And that brings me to my next ‘tip’ or rather fun fact…
4.Every Bag Has A Story!
My bags always have a story behind them. I can tell you where I purchased it, why, when, etc. I usually buy one new designer bag a year + each bag is a milestone for me. For example, the Dior above was the first designer bag I purchased for myself ever.
Below is the Gucci bag I bought on Rodeo Drive when I first moved to LA…every bag tells a story, which makes them so meaningful to me as corny as that sounds…
Below are some of my current favorite bags I have purchased over the years…What is your favorite bag story?
D E N I M days are here! Along with some spring weather FINALLY ♥ ICYMI it has been pretty rainy + chilly in LA, I know I may have become a bit of a baby moving here from NY, but my blood has totally thinned out + I can’t stand the cold temps…I like to live in lightweight outfits, plenty of dresses + heeled sandals or pumps 😉 Guess those are my signature ‘go-to’s’. Sooo it comes as no surprise that today’s look is one I will be rocking all spring long that incorporates some of the hottest trends of the season!
Ever since I was a teenager I have been a huge fan of skinny jeans + jeggings. I think they always look sharp and well put together and they fit me like a glove. However, like with every trend certain brands or stores do it better and for an affordable price…my current go-to for skinny jeans + jeggings this spring? Rue21 and their new line called Wild Blue Denim designed by Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson. My dad is actually a huge Duck Dynasty fan and I used to watch with him back when I was living at home…seriously feels like forever now haha. Anyways, I love Sadie’s line and especially how they are diverse enough to be styled multiple ways…dress ’em up or dress ’em down, either way you’ll dress to impress.
The ‘Ripped & Sandblasted’ Jeggings are super comfortable, have plenty of stretch but also hug curves in all the right places! They have just the right amount of rips without over-doing it + like I love about most skinnies, they look chic with a pair of heels for a night out or with a pair of kicks for running around town…since I am obsessed with white pumps this spring season, it only made sense I paired these skinnies with these beauties!
Another trend I am all about this spring are peasant tops! I love the boho chic style + flowy feel making them the perfect style of top to pair with tight skinny jeans so you have a contrast with different shapes for a complete look.
This paisley peasant top also designed by Sadie is going to be worn a lot this spring into summer. Style it with jeans, a pair of shorts or even a skirt…it’s an easy breezy blouse that goes with everything.
2 years ago I snagged this Gucci Soho Tote from the Gucci boutique on Rodeo Drive. It was my first purchase on Rodeo Drive…now 2 years later they are a client I manage digital + influencer strategy for…how crazy is that?! Naturally it’s a perfect fit for me haha
