I lived in NYC my whole life + never actually visited the Brooklyn Bridge! How crazy is that? But I guess when you are a local native in a city you often don’t take the time to explore your surroundings + what makes your city so unique + special. It took me moving to LA, being away from NYC for years + visiting again to finally explore iconic spots around NYC like the Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo + so much more.
While I was so happy to see NYC again, I forgot what it was like to be a New Yorker. I used to run around the city all the time, catching trains + subways, hailing cabs + checking out new restaurants while shopping at my favorite spots. It was amazing indeed BUT living in LA where you can drive everywhere, not run to catch a train, not carry all your stuff with you (hey that’s what trunks are for :p), life is definitely different in LA vs NY. I was determined to make this NY trip the best so here was stop one of my NYC excursion.
I was so excited to head to the Brooklyn Bridge + had a vision of pulling off a Carrie Bradshaw esq look there (ICYMI – I am a MAJOR Sex + The City fan…I always considered myself a Carrie but as of late I think I am a Charlotte personality with Carrie style). Sooo while thinking up the perfect outfit I found this gorgeous ombre tulle skirt + instantly knew it was ‘the one‘. I am linking to some similar styles below along with the solid pieces I paired it with like this light blue blazer + beige crop top…letting the skirt take center stage.
I love stocking up on basic pieces like these because they go with every ensemble + look classy no matter what the occasion. I wear these nude pumps all the time + this belt matches with all of my dresses + top / skirt combos.
I don’t know about you but when I think of Easter, I instantly think of pastel colored Easter Eggs. Whether it’s decorating them, or hiding them, or having them as decor in your Easter basket, who doesn’t love some pastel eggs, am I right?! Well since Easter is around the corner I figured I’d style a look inspired by my favorite eggs…because why not, life’s too short to not stand out like a rainbow!
First off let me just say, I am LOVINGthis sweater. I have accumulated a plethora of rainbow sweaters as of late + this one is a favorite because of it’s pastel hues making it perfect for Easter + spring in general!
I styled it with a baby blue skater skirt – I have been stocking up on this style of skirt for under $20 from Amazon (it is so flattering + comes in a variety of different colors – like over 20+ to be exact). Skater skirts are great to pair with just about anything for a fun, flirty look!
White pumps are a signature shoe every lady should have! They are a chic classic you can never go wrong with + will last you for years to come, linking to some of my favorites along with my favorite Gucci bag below (similar styles as mine here is no longer available).
Nothing makes me happier than a Pop Of Color + when I have the opportunity to not just wear Pops Of Color but also a rainbow…that is what I call a win/win!
It may be chilly in LA (actually feels like winter) but I am in a spring state of mind with this colorful ensemble. When I spotted this rainbow cardigan I knew I had to have it because it makes a statement with any look + is easy to match with a dress, jeans + a tee and so much more. I scored this cardigan from Pink Lily Boutique which has become my go to for chic little pieces at a great price. Whether it is trendy dresses, colorful accessories or stylish shoes, Pink Lily has it all + for amazing prices.
These white rockstar jeans from Old Navy are my favorite – they fit perfectly + for a curvy gal like me, finding the right pair of jeans can occasionally be a challenge. Luckily Old Navy has got me covered! I have been wearing their rockstar line for years both in regular jeans + also jeggings.
These shoes totally make a statement. I didn’t think I would be able to pull off a teal shoe but after this outfit, I think I definitely can 😉 The key to wearing a bold colored shoe is to style them with neutral tones like I did here with white but let them pop with pairing them with the striped cardigan + Gucci blue camera bag.
I ma linking to some great teal heel options below (at various price points + from different retailers)
I am off to Florida for a long overdue vacay! That means logging off, relaxing + enjoying some time with my boo. We are heading to Disney to celebrate my birthday + our anniversary! We are making it our tradition to head to Florida to kick off a new year and celebrate these occasions so that means I am usually prepping beginning in early January for all of the goodies I want to bring along on our trip. From colorful swimsuits to durable luggage to the perfect pair of sunnies + floppy hat, I rounded up my favorite vacay must-haves below!
It is officially spring + that means new dresses, lightweight jackets + open toe shoes (oh wait…I think I wear these year round anyways hehe :p). I love a simple dress with a denim jacket layered over it since it is such an easy go-to look, just throw it on + you are ready for anything. I wore this Tart Collections dress in Florida and it was perfect for the warm weather during the day + the cooler weather at night with a jacket over it. Tart Collection has great styles whether it is outerwear, blouses, dresses + pants and beyond (plus they range from regular to plus size and are available at Nordstrom + a few other retailers)!
I am obsessed with this dress because it is a great print for spring + lightweight. There are a bunch of similar styles as well in different color variations, prints etc.
I am also loving cork heels for spring since they are great to style with a dress, skirt or jeans + the cork style matches with every look. My go-to bag for running errands or heading out with friends is this Gucci camera bag (similar).
I am currently in total spring cleaning mode packing my current place + moving into my new place (this week is moving week) BUT I am also wanting to stock up my wardrobe for spring…not shopping while moving is so difficult let me tell ya haha :p
Luckily this outfit was put together with signature pieces I have had for years. I honestly feel a denim jacket is one of those key pieces you need in your wardrobe that will last you years! Mine has lasted me through high school all the way to now 🙂
