Black Florals…

So I may have titled this post ‘Black Florals‘, but after scrolling through all of the shots of me in this post I may as well name it ‘hair grab‘ since that seems to have become one of my ‘go-to’ poses while shooting new looks :p I am not quite sure how I always end up posing the same way (especially when whoever is shooting tells me to act ‘natural‘…my version of natural is being posed I suppose haha) but as I keep going through my iPhoto library I tend to see a ton of ‘hair grabbing / flipping’ shots #LongHairDontCare!

The past few weeks have been a little ~~hectic~~ for me which has in turn given me less time to blog, but rest assured once I am settled in to my new apartment with my little work area (complete with an instagram worthy set up of course :p) I will be back on track and writing tons more content (hopefully…fingers crossed haha)

Is it spring yet? Because it sure doesn’t feel like it! The weekend brought more snow to lovely Long Island (although this outfit was clearly shot back before the many snow storms in February) and as it seems things won’t be warming up for a while I decided to share one of my favorite winter time coats with you that can be worn well into the spring…I give you my ‘Fuzzy Creature‘ coat aka my Labradoodle coat or my teddy bear coat (just a few of the different names this coat has inspired)…no matter what you call it, it has become my favorite winter piece that keeps me warm + cozy and stylish at the same time…

I have this thing for wearing coats that have no ~~buttons~~…no ~~zippers~~ and basically are an easy throw over. I swear sometimes I feel like I am a middle aged woman going through menopause, because even in the coldest of temperatures, I am always hot (that’s what commuting to and from Manhattan will do to ya). This coat is great because the beige hue matches with every ensemble and it reminds me of a faux fur vest…best of both worlds…a functional coat / trendy piece all in one. (PS now is a great time to buy coats since it is the end of the season…both of the coats below are up to 50% off!) Now is also a great time to stock up on scarves like this one here.

These Hue Leatherette Leggings have been my obsession all winter because they are sexy and actually keep me warm…so although my dad hates how tight they are (every time I wear them a comment always follows) I will continue to wear them till the weather heats up #SorryDad :p I can’t wait to be able to wear all of my pumps again and since it still is a little slushy on the ground, patent leather pumps are a great option because they won’t get damaged instantly the way a pair of leather or suede pumps will (and I am loving nude pumps because they really go with everything). And I always need a little ‘Pop Of Color’ in every ensemble so this magenta GiGi NY clutch is the perfect touch (plus you can score it on sale now!)

Happy Weekend Lovers! Time for another gift guide! Often times it’s hard to buy for let’s say your teenage niece, your tech savvy aunt, your straight to business mom or trendy gal pal. You don’t want to spend a fortune because hello what gal isn’t on a budget…and you don’t want to pick a cheap gift that the recepient won’t get much use out of…so what is the perfect, no brainer gift? Gingham & GiGi…

Happy Monday Lovers! I had quite a busy weekend filled with outfit shoots, Long Island adventures and some fun new blog concepts…but I think I should run some of them by you guys to see what you think…but first let’s break down this little look I’m rocking today. Gingham is a great print for fall…especially when it’s affordable like this button down top from Target. My top and pale pink skirt are both Target Style finds…now that’s guilt free shopping! What I love about gingham is that you can dress it up or dress it down depending on the occasion…I love it layered with jeans for a casual look or for a more dressed up look, simply pair it with a light weight skirt like I did here. My monogrammed clutch is from GiGi NY and it comes it countless hues and is a great going out back that adds a pop of color to any ensemble. Pale pink pumps?…Umm yes! These beauties are from NYLA…unfortunately they are a bit too small on me so you can actually score these straight from my Poshmark closet for a fraction of the actual retail cost. Once again rocking my Kendra Scott druszy ring…I think I am slightly obsessed…oops! Now to share my idea with you guys…it seems that the wave of the future or rather now is being a video ~~vixen~~ (not in THAT way…) but rather stepping in front of the camera and chatting away rather than just taking pretty pictures. So after some talking with my brother aka my photographer we came up with an idea of doing an ongoing video series to accompany my blog…what do you guys think? Are videos the way to go? What kind of videos would you like to see?!
