    Chic In Pink!

    20140131-113554.jpg

When I slipped into this outfit i fell in love…a flared out skirt from the Catherine Malandrino collection for Kohls, an elegant pink sweater, a chic quilted black bag and some classic black suede pumps…what more can a girl ask for to look classy, sassy and sophisticated!

I love this skirt because of the lace insert details in the pleats…even though I bought this from Kohls (on clearance I may add!) you would never be able to tell that from looking at it. That’s something I love about designer collaborations with retail giants…although the clothing and accessories are created with a lower price point in mind, they never skimp on style or quality!

In addition to swooning over this skirt, as always, I love a ‘Pop Of Color‘ (I think Brad Goreski is my fashion soul mate, bow tie and all) because even in the winter when women are seen wearing black from head to toe, I have a thing for standing out and making a statement 😉 so rocking this pink Old Navy sweater was a definite ‘Must‘!

And the best way to pull any look together, especially once you add some color, is with simple accessories…a chic black Rebecca Minkoff bag and classy black pumps! You can never go wrong with black accessories!

A Date Night ‘Must’ – Envelope Clutch

    20140131-103825.jpg

My Perfect ‘Date Night’ Envelope Clutch from Target!

While I am a big bag kind of girl (obsessed with my Louis Vuitton NeverFulls), there comes a time when a lady wants to be a little chic and carry a simply yet elegant bag that has just enough room for the ‘basic necessities’…I.E the Envelope Clutch!

I believe the ‘Envelope Clutch’ is a fashion staple every fashionista should own. It’s simple and chic, perfect for your ID, Credit Card, Lipstick, Mascara and your keys…what else can a girl ask for? Now while I lust after some serious beauties…Prada, Chanel, Gucci, you get the idea, I certainly can’t afford them, so I scored my perfect clutch on clearance at Target months ago! Don’t fret, with the help of Polyvore, I rounded up some of my favorite animal print inspired clutches for the perfect girls night out or date night.

While envelope clutches are chic no matter what the design, I love a fun animal print to bring out your inner diva! What fashionista doesn’t love a little animal print, come on!

Here’s my roundup of great animal print clutches that are sure to spice up your night 😉

    Bright & Sunny

    20140127-093259.jpg
For once, the weather in NYC is actually bearable! There’s not a frigid breeze or snow just yet (naturally it’s coming during my after work commute), and that means, maybe, just maybe I can step out of the house without layers of wool, sweaters, leggings and vests. This easy, breezy look isn’t what I’m rocking to work today (a little to casual for a Monday in my opinion lol), but this outfit is a perfect weekend go to and can transition from season to season.

Yes, usually one wears yellow in the spring or summer but hey why not brighten up your wardrobe year round with a Pop Of Color? In my mind, color is always in style! I love this look because it is cool and casual. A simple white blouse, quilted Old Navy vest, Payless booties, a Coach cross-body bag, my favorite yellow Hue jeggings and a simple pair of shades from Urban Outfitters, what better outfit is there to tackle weekend adventures or errands?!

    An MK Moment

20140123-102638.jpgThe best way to stay cozy & warm during this polar vortex we are having here in NYC is with a heavy, yet chic coat that is sure to keep you snuggled up without giving up on style…This Michael Kors coat is the perfect combination of sexy, chic, warm and cozy…you can’t beat that!

It’s no surprise to anyone who knows me, that I love to wear pieces that are comfy and cute, this coat with these heeled H&M boots gives me that instant boost of sexy that every gal needs throughout the day. In my mind, all black can be one of the sexiest colors to wear, and this ensemble demonstrates just that.

A gorgeous jacket, stylish boots and your ready to take on whatever the day or night has to offer. It’s often times hard, in my opinion to feel ‘hot’ in the winter, but in this outfit I feel like I’m ready to take on the world and like I’m about to walk the runway at MBFW…now that’s confidence haha 🙂

    Tap For Details…

Join me on the Famest app --> @MissyOnMadison

Join me on the Famest app –> @MissyOnMadison

(Tap For Details) is a phrase I pretty much use on my Instagram everyday along with every other blogger out there, however with the rising trend of snapping and posting fashion pics comes specially developed apps used just for that purpose! Meaning…tapping is pretty much self explanatory and just for fashionistas like yourself!

Here’s my quandary…Which app is the fashion app for you? All of these fashion apps have the same concept: 1) Upload a pic of your style, a clothing item, someone else’s style or pretty much anything you want fashion related…2) Tag the items in that post using brand names, categories, colors etc….3) Share your post with the world via social media. Sounds pretty similar to Instagram right?

So what is the purpose of all these fashion apps? Easy, have accessible style to all with just the tap of your finger. These apps are speciality formatted to allow users to search by trends, categories, seasons…whatever fashion your looking for, these apps will help you find it.

Now which app is for you…do you sign up for all of them? 4 of them? 2? Maybe just one? This is my issue…currently I’m on Famest (as pictured above), Pose & Trendabl…I believe at some point I was on Snapette & Style Tag as well but after a while it gets hard to maintain all of them…plus Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and the blog itself! Turns into a full time job just to share your personal style!

So here’s the skinny on what makes each app different (Your Welcome 😉 )

FamestNow this app is a little over a year old, originated in Belgium and in my opinion is revolutionary. Basically, after posting your style, every time that image gets ‘Likes’ from other users, you earn points…these points can be used towards rewards from your favorite brands and designers, like being able to enter giveaways & contests exclusively on Famest or by receiving coupons, discounts or special offers on your favorite products..simply for having killer style! Umm kinda amazing! (Available online & as an app)

Snapette: This app is designed not to necessarily focus on what your wearing but rather to share those moments when you step into a store, see that dreamy handbag that you simply have to have and while it may take you 3 months to afford it, you ‘snap’ a pic of it…upload it to Snapette and continue to lust after it along with all your fellow fashionistas on the app. Basically it’s a great way to share individual items rather than overall looks. (Available online & as an app)

Trendabl: With celebs like Nicky Hilton and Michael Kors standing behind this app, you know it’s a hit. Trendabl is a platform that allows designers, brands, stores, bloggers and just about anyone to share their personal style pics..include tags for what they are wearing and store their favorite looks in ‘draws’ for later outfit inspiration! (Available on the app store only)

Pose: Similar to Trendabl, users on Pose can upload their personal style shots, tag items and share it with friends. Pose has been endorsed by style icon Rachel Zoe and what I personally love about Pose is the fact that you can use it on the computer or on your phone! They also have a great tech support team that answeres any user questions right away…that’s always a great thing! (Available online & as an app)

Style Tag: Style Tag is also similar to Pose and Trendabl, however what makes it different is once you post and tag your style shots, the app can help users find items similar to what your wearing because come on…half the pieces I wear were on clearance 5 months ago and simply may not be able to be found anymore, however there’s tons of pieces out there with a similar style and taste just waiting to be bought! (Available online & as an app)
