Florals For Spring…

Florals for spring?…#GroundBreaking….can you guess what movie that is from? My favorite movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘ of course! Although the famous ice queen is based on real life Anna Wintour, after yesterday’s amazing Zoolander moment during Paris Fashion Week…Anna seemed anything but icey and I absolutely loved it! If you have no clue what I am talking about, you MUST check out how Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took Paris Fashion Week by storm with their finale walk during the Maison Valentino show to promote the upcoming movie Zoolander 2! I never saw the first one (maybe I should get on that) but Ben was actually wearing some florals 😉 So he was my style inspiration for this post haha 😛

So after going through these photos I noticed I was standing in front of a smiley face…Say Cheese 🙂 This look is perfect for spring…florals and booties? YES! It’s even great to wear to the office. I love a great A-Line skirt because to be quite honest I find them flattering on almost every figure…if you aren’t one for color, opting for a gray floral print is ideal because it’s a feminine print without being ‘too much’. I paired the skirt with a simple gray cowl neck top, black open toe booties (a great winter to spring transition shoe) + my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab tote.

I tend to wear the same few watches everyday, but for this outfit I decided to take my silver Michael Kors watch out of retirement! This was one of my first nice watches I ever got and it was a birthday gift from my parents a few years ago…I feel like this watch is a right of passage…at least on Long Island. My sister got this watch in gold and I have run into countless tweens, teens and young ladies all rocking this Michael Kors staple and I don’t blame them…it’s a fantastic watch!

On a side note today is going to be a busy day for me at work and I am trying to recuperate after being sick yesterday…I felt ~~dizzy~~, ~~nauseous~~ and needed a break…sometimes commuting and a hectic schedule gets to ya so some much needed R+R was needed along with reruns of Real Housewives and cuddling with Charlie <3 That’ll make everything better!

From Day To Night…

Happy Monday Loves! I hope you had a fun filled weekend like I did…lets’ just say it involved some shopping, outfit shoots and…blogging. Just Kidding (not really), but I also spent some quality time with family and friends and ventured out on Long Island. So I learned while working in NYC that it is essential to have a great day to night transition look. A great outfit to wear from 9-5 but that can easily be ‘glammed’ up or down for happy hour. I think I finally found the perfect ensemble. I’ve seen a lot of ladies rock crop tops to the office…while I think it’s daring, I still opt to make the look a bit traditional by adding a chic black blazer paired with a printed high waisted skirt like this one from Prabal Gurung for Target (love a great Look For Less collab). I always have to add a ‘Pop Of Color’ to every look, so queue the cobalt blue quilted clutch. I scored this bag on sale at Lord & Taylor last year, but everyone always assumes it’s designer…don’t you love when that happens? My first pair of shoes for the ‘day’ look are from Nine West. These black booties are simply stunning and they are comfortable too. A great shoe to wear year round. Now for my ‘night’ portion. Not much changes except loosing the blazer and adding an even sexier shoe.My shoes are also Prabal Gurung for Target (I found similar one’s from Nine West available now). These are my ‘sexy’ shoes. Comfortable for a night filled with dancing, but also classy enough for a nice dinner. I simply love this look, now I just need somewhere to go!Shop My Look<3

Happy Weekend Loves! I love a good print, and summer is all about some bright and fun florals, so this clearance find from Nordstrom simply had to make it’s way to the blog! I love a classic look that also has a fun twist, so taking a printed body con skirt and adding a simple peplum top and a blake snakeskin Michael Kors clutch makes this outfit office ready…even though it’s the weekend, I’m sharing some office inspiration for that dreaded Monday morning! I will never get sick of these bright pink pumps from Michael Kors…talk about a ‘Pop Of Color‘ these babies got you covered for work or play 😉 The shoes bring out the color of this skirt which I am totally obsessed with <3 In the summer I feel like color is an essential part of everyone’s wardrobe, so mixing a neutral with some bright pieces is work appropriate while also fresh and modern.A chic clutch is always a go to for a night out. I love this Michael Kors bag again and again because it looks so expensive yet it only cost me around $150 compared to similar styles that range from $500-$1,000…always on the hunt for a good bargain!These photos were shot in Northport by the lake, one of my favorite Long Island spots. Although I love city life, I will never get sick of open skies and a beautiful water view…can you blame me? Nothing is more peaceful for a summer weekend than Long Island…guess that’s why all the Manhattanites venture to the Hamptons for summer weekends…luckily I just get to live here year round 🙂
