Looking to step out + make a statement? Then this is the look for you! I wore this gorgeous black tulle gown from Red Dress Boutique while I was in NYC last month to shoot on the breathtaking Brooklyn Bridge. When I shot this gown everyone asked if I was getting ready for the holiday season early + then when I posted a sneak peak of it on my instastories I got lots of questions about the dress as a piece to wear to winter weddings! It’s a chic style that makes a statement + can be worn for so many different occasions, especially with the holiday season + winter wedding season in full swing!
I absolutely love this gorgeous dress for so many reasons. It makes me feel like a princess the moment I put it on, it is actually comfortable when wearing it for long periods of time + it makes a bold statement in a classy way. I am always up for a little tulle whenever possible + this dress definitely didn’t disappoint.
Because this is such a beautiful special occasion dress, to wear it in a more casual way, I styled it with a simple black moto jacket, nude Stuart Weitzman heels + classic Chanel bag. Anytime I am trying to take a dressy piece + dress it down I add a moto jacket. It can give any outfit an edgy look instantly, plus it allows you to wear special occasion pieces more often.
I love the pretty detailing of this dress, from the tulle bottom to the beaded top, it is perfect for wedding season or winter events.
I can’t remember where I bought this moto jacket so I linked to some similar styles below – definitely worth the investment since you will get years of wear out of it.
As for shoes + bag, I kept them simple so I can let the dress take center stage. I love this black Chanel Flap Bag since it is a classic + will match with everything you wear forever + ever.
My shoes are also simple classics that I encourage everyone to add to their wardrobe, the Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals.
How do you feel about tulle?
Are you someone who loves to make a feminine fashion statement or more reserved with your style? ♥
I’m off to NYC today for a week filled of work, photoshoots, seeing friends + family and of course spending some time at my favorite spots in the Big Apple! Whether I am in NY to visit family, have meetings or shoot new content, I always love being back in the city that never sleeps, my true home. I’ve been living in LA for over 5 years now but it stills feels like just yesterday that I was living and working in New York where I was born + raised. I will forever have a NY personality (I am totally impatient, loud, I hustle + I don’t take no for an answer haha) and when I first moved to LA my east coast personality definitely took people by storm.
I am a firm believer that if you can make it in NY you can make it anywhere + that my NY roots contributed to the success I’ve been having even here in LA. NY is a city that allows you to dream, allows you to be who you want to be, achieve your goals + experience new things each and everyday. I learned so many key life skills and career skills from my time in NY + each time I return back I reminisce about my early years in my career, my college years + how far I’ve come…
One of the many things I love about NY is that you can truly be as fun + crazy as you want to be. I love mixing feminine vibes with uptown chic styles, my ultimate style icon being Carrie Bradshaw (as if that weren’t already obvious haha :p) I always wanted to get some fun photos with the famous yellow NYC cabs so last time I was in the city I did this shoot + all of my SATC vibes came to life!
My yellow off the shoulder bodysuit + black tulle skirt are both Amazon finds. I love shopping Amazon when I have specific pieces in mind because it is so easy to just search, find + get what I am looking for right away!
I actually bought this skirt + bodysuit in multiple colors so I mix and match the pieces all the time. These pieces are great to dress up with heels or even make them casual with a moto jacket and sneakers.
I kept my shoes and bag classic. I love this black Chanel Flap Bag + bring it with me everywhere I go – especially NYC for business meetings or nice dinners. My heels are classic black patent leather pumps, a pair every gal should have for work + play.
I also pulled the look together with one of my signature Gucci belts, this pearl one which pairs perfectly with the feminine details of the tulle skirt.
Now I am off to the Big Apple…have a great weekend ya’ll!
ICYMI I rocked this leopard skirt on the blog a few weeks ago but I brought it back to show how I can style one piece in so many ways no matter what the season…case and point? This leopard skirt styled for fall into winter with the right accessories like I did here. That’s what I love about style + fashion…outfits can be styled so many different ways by switching up a few key pieces. Whether it be accessories, shoes, sunnies, additional layers etc one outfit can be changed so many different ways with a few additions 😉
I LOVE this leopard skirt for so many reasons. 1. I majorly love leopard right now + 2. It is a great piece to wear year round because of it’s lightweight design and tiered look. It is such a signature piece that will last you quite a while which is something I look for when shopping all the time.
Just like the summer look, I styled this skirt with a cropped white sweater but here I layered over a black faux fur vest paired with a Gucci pearl belt to really make a statement with an otherwise simple look.
I LOVE faux fur vests for fall into winter. They were my go to while I was in NY as opposed to coats this way when I went from the warm subway to the cold NYC streets I still kept the right amount of warmth.
As for my shoes + bag…the bag was a deal my boo + I snagged on Yoogi’s Closet. We recently got into the concept of flipping handbags…ok let me explain haha
My boyfriend + I love watching HGTV and DIY network where there are a ton of shows of people flipping houses, so I thought hmmm I know the best handbag repair business in the US (PurseRehab based here in Malibu) + I am great at spotting designer deals so with that combination, why don’t I flip bags? Get a great deal, fix them up to their brand new state + sell ’em.
We are beginning this experience now so we shall see how profitable our venture ends up being, BUT this bag is one of the first ones we are going to flip. I love the black + gold detailing, it’s a rare style and with that said I couldn’t find the exact bag but if you want to buy the one I am wearing message me! Otherwise I have linked to some similar styles below.
I’ve been crushing on white boots for a while now + found these perfect ones on clearance from Nordstrom Rack but am linking to some similar options below. I feel like you can never go wrong with white boots…they match with everything, look chic as can be + these ones in particular are super comfortable.
What a week it’s been! I am currently recouping from a busy weekend + week as I am cuddled up on the couch down Nyquil trying to get over being sick from all the traveling. This sparkly look was shot over the weekend when I was in Vegas speaking at The Influencer Lab blogger conference where I was alongside other amazing boss babes sharing all about my blogging journey, career path + more. It was a surreal feeling. I sat there wanting to cry tears of joy as I looked out into the audience where my team (yes my team haha nuts right?!) was sitting and my boyfriend was standing in the back snapping pictures as I was talking away about what got me to that exact moment of speaking about my life to these aspiring influencers, marketers + more.
It was a moment I have forever dreamed of. I love sharing about how I got to where I am with others + to be able to inspire other entrepreneurs in the making makes me feel like a mini Mark Cuban (Shark Tank is my obsession hehe :p).
It’s been 7 years since I started my blog and 8 years since I began working in the digital marketing space…years later being able to share my journey with others was an amazing feeling + made me feel all sorts of sparkle from the inside out.
That brings me to the stand out look I rocked in Vegas…because you know when in Vegas you better bring on the gltiz + glam hehe 🙂
I was lusting after this dress ever since it first popped up on my IG feed a few weeks ago + while it’s a bit pricey I figured it’s Vegas, it’s my first speaking engagement, I may as well go big (otherwise go home right haha) so I invested + bought this Retrofete Gabrielle Sequin Wrap Dress. I felt like a sparkly disco ball + honestly loved it, life is definitely too short to play it safe so live it up + make a statement.
I paired this dress with sparkly pumps from Manolo Blahnik because clearly the dress wasn’t enough sparkle hehe :p I built this outfit from the shoes up. I scored these beauties on sale from Saks Off Fifth (ICYMI my post on finding designer deals for less highlights how I find great buys like these Manolos) and when I bought them months ago I knew they would be perfect for this occasion. When you feel like you look good, your confidence just exudes.
As for my bag, this was definitely a last minute buy haha While my dad was in town visiting last week we headed out the the Palm Desert Premium Outlets + I went into store after store looking at various pieces and each time I walked out of every store not loving anything…my dad even made a comment saying ‘wow I don’t think I have ever seen you come out of so many stores without buying a single thing‘. Well he must have jinxed me because then I walked into Valentino, saw this bag + died and went to heaven…BAM bag found + I had the biggest smile on the rest of the day.
It’s my first Valentino bag + it definitely doesn’t disappoint. I love the hot pink color, the convenient size + the versatile way to wear it either as a crossbody bag, shoulder bag to top handle bag…the options of how to wear it make it the best go-to bag. It was one of those bags that you see it + you just know it was meant for you 😉 Like love at first sight, bag edition haha
Besides loving my outfit, one of the best parts of this past weekend was just the feeling I had that I made it. I envisioned speaking on a panel forever + while it was a small accomplishment to some, to me it was huge + it is what gives me the drive to continue to strive for more + never settle. My new slogan…Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It ♥
