Oh hey what’s up hello…don’t you love this little mint dress I put on for show 😉 OK that was my attempt at raping hehe How did I do? :p If you didn’t already know, I am a HUGE rap + hip hop fan…it’s one of my many obsessions, along with shoes, bright colors and of course summer dresses like this mint pleated number from ShopTheMint.com! I love working with Shop The Mint because they seriously sell everything I wish to have in my closet…(ICYMI here are two other outfits I wore Shop The Mint for :: here + here)
Is it spring yet? Because it sure doesn’t feel like it! The weekend brought more snow to lovely Long Island (although this outfit was clearly shot back before the many snow storms in February) and as it seems things won’t be warming up for a while I decided to share one of my favorite winter time coats with you that can be worn well into the spring…I give you my ‘Fuzzy Creature‘ coat aka my Labradoodle coat or my teddy bear coat (just a few of the different names this coat has inspired)…no matter what you call it, it has become my favorite winter piece that keeps me warm + cozy and stylish at the same time…
I have this thing for wearing coats that have no buttons…no zippers and basically are an easy throw over. I swear sometimes I feel like I am a middle aged woman going through menopause, because even in the coldest of temperatures, I am always hot (that’s what commuting to and from Manhattan will do to ya). This coat is great because the beige hue matches with every ensemble and it reminds me of a faux fur vest…best of both worlds…a functional coat / trendy piece all in one. (PS now is a great time to buy coats since it is the end of the season…both of the coats below are up to 50% off!) Now is also a great time to stock up on scarves like this one here.
These Hue Leatherette Leggings have been my obsession all winter because they are sexy and actually keep me warm…so although my dad hates how tight they are (every time I wear them a comment always follows) I will continue to wear them till the weather heats up #SorryDad :p I can’t wait to be able to wear all of my pumps again and since it still is a little slushy on the ground, patent leather pumps are a great option because they won’t get damaged instantly the way a pair of leather or suede pumps will (and I am loving nude pumps because they really go with everything). And I always need a little ‘Pop Of Color’ in every ensemble so this magenta GiGi NY clutch is the perfect touch (plus you can score it on sale now!)
PS did you check out what the newest weekend series will be on my blog? It’s all about my dating disasters :p (everyone needs a good laugh every now and then right?!)
This is what I am wearing to the office today…NOT! Trust me I am counting down the seconds till I could slip on some shorts and sandals once again, but for now I will have to relive some sunny moments with these photos from one of my outfit shoots in Florida (if you missed my previous Florida posts check them out here + here). The weather was perfect, not too hot…not too cold, just right…The perfect weather to mix a cropped sweater, shorts + of course sandals (how great are these white ankle strap sandals…I can’t wait to wear them all spring/summer long, PS you can get them for under $50 below)!
This white sweater was a staple of mine in Florida because it would be brisk in the morning, warm in the afternoon and then slightly cooler in the evening so this sweater came with me everywhere (a gal has to be prepared at all times :p).My accessories were staples for my trip as well. Simple white sandals can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts or dresses, so they are a great option to bring when traveling to a warmer climate (which is pretty much anywhere other than New York #GetMeOutOfHere). My bag is from Coach a few years back but I found two similar cross body options here + here. And of course some bling is always in order…I layer this skull necklace over everything + yes, I am totally obsessed with these blue Ray Bans which were a Birthday gift from my parents right before I left for my trip.
So in actuality I am bundled up in layers…warm pants, sweaters, vests and more…pretty much yesterday’s outfit post but hey it’s fun to have a little ‘throwback‘ moment every now and then right? :p| Click To Shop + Share My Look |
Today I am…sittin’ pretty (on the blog here at least). Currently I am wrapped in a towel sitting on my bed watching re-runs of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ (best show ever btw! current obsession) and relaxing after my return to the Big Apple today for my first day at my new job…which I LOVE! It’s crazy how sometimes things just fall perfectly into place…when you feel like you truly belong somewhere and your voice is heard…it’s a great feeling let me tell ya and if you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t worry one day you will.
I kept being anti-winter and anti NYC weather for the longest time but with looks like this, I can begin to embrace a little cold here and there 😉 Typically when I begin to put a look together I base it around one key piece…today’s would clearly be this great shearling vest that I got at a local boutique by me but I found similar options here, here + here. I LOVE a great vest and this shearling one keeps me warm and cozy…win/win!I really wanted the vest to take center stage so I paired it with a simplewhite cable knit sweater and black ripped jeans (both are winter staples in my book)! I always think Old Navy has the best cable knit sweaters but maybe that’s because I love a great bargain as well 😉 And my favorite part…bag and shoes! I am OBSESSED with these leopard ankle strap sandals that I snagged for…$7 at DSW! Yes, you heard me…$7! While they are no longer available I found you guys options here + here (all affordable, don’t you worry)! As you all know…I love Rebecca Minkoff and her fabulous ‘Affair’ bag available with free shipping from Zappos here. And even in the winter months I still need my mirrored aviators…they just add a little ‘pop’ to any look don’t ya think?Alright I think that’s all for now folks…I am half asleep and need some rest to get ready for another busy day in NYC!
