Green Aftermath…the day after St. Patrick’s Day may be a bummer for some, but for me…it’s pure bliss. Let’s break down just a few of the reasons why I am not a St. Paddy’s Day fan…A) Overcrowding in NYC {have you tried navigating the streets of Manhattan the day of any parade…let alone the St. Patrick’s Day parade? Do Not Attempt!} B) Drunk / Obnoxious people on the LIRR {cue throwing up teens + countless fights…both my trains yesterday were delayed…lovely} C) It is an excuse for everyone (irish or not) to get drunk without actually knowing the meaning behind the holiday {although my grandma definitely gave me the detailed history of St. Patrick’s Day I can’t remember it exactly, but I guarantee it wasn’t a national ‘Get Drunk’ holiday…but hey who knows} Anyways…back to something I do enjoy…colored jeans! Haha…like that segue? 😉
Speaking of white…you know what is covered in white? Long Island! Because once again it is snowing…#SoOverThisWeather. I am beginning to feel like winter will be lasting a lot longer than I would like so naturally I decided to begin dressing ‘springy‘ hopefully to give mother nature a little *hint hint* to warm up already! (If not I will have to warm up on my upcoming trip to LA that I just booked yesterday! I can’t wait for some sunshine and a nice tan!) Anyways…like I’ve mentioned before, the only thing I do like about all this snow is that it makes for a pretty backdrop…if only it wasn’t such a menace the rest of the time :p While this look isn’t the most practical outfit for this weather, I kinda don’t care because I miss being able to bare my legs and wear skater skirts! (I can’t stand wearing stockings or tights).
I love the neutral colors in this outfit…browns and whites have been my go to shades for winter. Although it’s a faux paux to wear white in winter…let alone a white faux leather skirt, I dared to anyway…and I am pretty content with the result 😉 pair it with a chic sweater and a cute scarf and a primarily spring/summer pieces is turned into a winter essential.
My accessories I kept simple…although I am not wearing them in the photos I recently got these yellow aviators and love them (they will definitely be packed for my upcoming California {post from last year’s visit} trip!). You can never go wrong with neutralhues when it comes to shoes and bags because they can easily be transitioned from season to season and can be worn with any look. These taupe suede booties (which are on sale from ShopBop btw – Use code BigEvent15 for discount) can be worn all year long and can be styled in multiple ways! My Coach cross body has been getting use no matter what the season since I purchased it a year ago (great investment!).
Hopefully today is the last of the snow because every time I go to take photos there is still slush and ice on the ground…not ideal to show off my new spring wear (insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes haha)| Click To Shop + Share My Look |
This is what I am wearing to the office today…NOT! Trust me I am counting down the seconds till I could slip on some shorts and sandals once again, but for now I will have to relive some sunny moments with these photos from one of my outfit shoots in Florida (if you missed my previous Florida posts check them out here + here). The weather was perfect, not too hot…not too cold, just right…The perfect weather to mix a cropped sweater, shorts + of course sandals (how great are these white ankle strap sandals…I can’t wait to wear them all spring/summer long, PS you can get them for under $50 below)!
This white sweater was a staple of mine in Florida because it would be brisk in the morning, warm in the afternoon and then slightly cooler in the evening so this sweater came with me everywhere (a gal has to be prepared at all times :p).My accessories were staples for my trip as well. Simple white sandals can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts or dresses, so they are a great option to bring when traveling to a warmer climate (which is pretty much anywhere other than New York #GetMeOutOfHere). My bag is from Coach a few years back but I found two similar cross body options here + here. And of course some bling is always in order…I layer this skull necklace over everything + yes, I am totally obsessed with these blue Ray Bans which were a Birthday gift from my parents right before I left for my trip.
So in actuality I am bundled up in layers…warm pants, sweaters, vests and more…pretty much yesterday’s outfit post but hey it’s fun to have a little ‘throwback‘ moment every now and then right? :p| Click To Shop + Share My Look |
Happy Tuesday Lovers! It may be snowing here in NY but I’m still reminiscing about some of my favorite fall looks…like this little leopard number! This leopard cardigan (similar style…mine is not longer available) is my current obsession for fall…cozy, warm and guess what? It has a nice ‘pop’ of orange in addition to a chic leopard print…what more can a gal ask for for the cold weather months? To make the orange in the cardigan ‘pop‘ even more, I opted to wear a neon orange top underneath (the one I am wearing is from Old Navy and no longer available). I found a cute orange chiffon blouse that’s work appropriate as well from Last Call Neiman Marcus here.If it wasn’t already obvious…even in the coldest of temperatures, I still love to wear a skirt…especially a skater skirt like this one. A black skater skirt is an essential for every fashionistas because it can be dressed up or down for any occasion…nothing beats that! Now let’s break down the accessories…I never leave the house without a classic watch. A watch to me isn’t just a way to tell time, but it makes a statement…it truly shows a little bit about your personal style. For this look I decided to rock my new Caravelle NY wrap watch that when I look at it I instantly think ‘decadent chocolate‘…why does that come to mind? Easy…it’s brown leather and has sparkles…so that’s high class chocolate if you ask me haha! Now time for the shoe + bag swag! These Isola black suede fringed booties (on sale now for under $75 at 6pm!) are AMAZING…and I’m not just saying this because I am wearing them 😉 Black booties are always in style, but comfort is something that is a rare find…these Isola booties both have style and comfort…the way to every fashion lovers heart. My bag is actually a black leather Coach bucket bag that is truly vintage…my mom used to rock it while she was pregnant with me…designer love at a young age 😉 I found a few similar bags here + here.I for one wish I could be wearing this outfit today but unfortunately due to today’s ‘Noreaster’ that doesn’t seem likely :/ snow and rain go away…come again…never haha!| Click To Shop My Look |
Happy Monday Lovers! Today I’m kicking off a new ‘Guide’ series on the blog…I’ve already begun posting ‘Holiday Gift Guides’ to help you guys find the perfect gifts for your loved ones this holiday season but now comes the fun part…’How To Dress For The Holidays!’ Dressing for the holidays is always a tricky thing…you never know how fancy / dressed up to be and what should you wear to stand out without over doing it while still being respectful to your family members or friends whom you are spending the holiday season with? Well I’ve come up with a few different solutions starting with this lovely look featuring a statement making sequin skirt from Lord & Taylor available here on sale!To make this sequin skirt a little less dress I styled it with a peach button down blouse from Old Navy (similar one available from Tibi here. The best part? The button down can be worn for work as well so it’s not like your buying a blouse to only be worn once for a holiday dinner! I love any piece that can serve multiple purposes 😉 My holiday hair do? Simple yet chic…you can get my look by following my ‘Long Hair Don’t Care’ hair tutorial here! Now to break down my accessories…I love signature pieces of bling for every day life as well as holiday dressing. In this look I’m rocking a rose gold Marc by Marc Jacobs watch (which would make an awesome gift for the fashionista in your life BTW!) + a signature initial bangle (similar versions here + here…both make great gifts as well). My bag is a classic tote style from the Neiman Marcus collection from Last Call Neiman Marcus. It comes in a variety of colors but for this look I decided brown would be perfect (once again Thanksgiving festive but also practical to wear to the office or on the weekend). These heels are an oldie but a goodie…the Coach ‘Lavania’ Heel. They come in two different hues (both perfect for fall) black and taupe…you can shop them here from 6pm. (P.S. I’m selling these beauties on Poshmark here)If you are already beginning your hunt for perfect holiday gifts check out my guides:
