Woohoo and cheers for the weekend! I have been seriously anticipating the arrival of the weekend because I am ready for some spring vibes and sunshine 😉 Who is with me on that?! I can’t wait to shoot looks without totally freezing myself to bits and I definitely have seeing James Franco and Jonah Hill’s new movie ‘True Story‘ on the agenda for the weekend…the trailer has totally sucked me in! Plus staring at Jonah Hill and James Franco for two hours is pretty much a guaranteed way to have a splendid weekend haha!

Another reason I am anxious for the weekend? The fact that it’ll be warm enough to wear more of my favorite skater skirts like I am in today’s post! If I could wear skirts and dresses everyday of the week I would. I hate wearing pants…I prefer to show a little leg and feel girly at all times what can I say…I am a dork from time to time :p

Sittin’ Pretty…

Today I am…sittin’ pretty (on the blog here at least). Currently I am wrapped in a towel sitting on my bed watching re-runs of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ (best show ever btw! current obsession) and relaxing after my return to the Big Apple today for my first day at my new job…which I LOVE! It’s crazy how sometimes things just fall perfectly into place…when you feel like you truly belong somewhere and your voice is heard…it’s a great feeling let me tell ya and if you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t worry one day you will.

I kept being anti-winter and anti NYC weather for the longest time but with looks like this, I can begin to embrace a little cold here and there 😉 Typically when I begin to put a look together I base it around one key piece…today’s would clearly be this great shearling vest that I got at a local boutique by me but I found similar options here, here + here. I LOVE a great vest and this shearling one keeps me warm and cozy…win/win!I really wanted the vest to take center stage so I paired it with a simple white cable knit sweater and black ripped jeans (both are winter staples in my book)! I always think Old Navy has the best cable knit sweaters but maybe that’s because I love a great bargain as well 😉 And my favorite part…bag and shoes! I am OBSESSED with these leopard ankle strap sandals that I snagged for…$7 at DSW! Yes, you heard me…$7! While they are no ~~longer~~ available I found you guys options here + here (all affordable, don’t you worry)!As you all know…I love Rebecca Minkoff and her fabulous ‘Affair’ bag available with free shipping from Zappos here. And even in the winter months I still need my mirrored aviators…they just add a little ‘pop’ to any look don’t ya think?Alright I think that’s all for now folks…I am half asleep and need some rest to get ready for another busy day in NYC! New Year…New Post!

Well let me first start off by saying ‘Happy New Year‘! Crazy how we are starting a blank page in a new 365 page book (yes, I saw that quote all over instagram and had to incorporate it somehow into my first New Year post). It’s time for a New Year and a New outfit post…naturally I chose to show off an outfit shot in 2014 in slightly warmer weather (although I insist on wearing skirts year round…even when it is snowing out…I have no shame)! So here’s to an awesome outfit to kick off 2015…a maroon moment!I love rocking a floppy hat especially one that matches my suede booties. A maroon floppy hat is something I tend to get a lot of use out of because it’s the slight pop of color and much needed accessory any outfit requires to stand out. Plus this one is on sale from TopShop for Nordstrom here.My floral kimono cardigan came from a local Long Island boutique but I found a similar one from Urban Outfitters here (and for $50 it’s a total steal). As for my maroon skater skirt I found a similar one at Nordstrom as well for under $30 here.This watch has been one of my favorite goodies sent to me in the year 2014…this Caravelle NY watch is one of my go to’s in my daily line up and it is simple, chic and goes with everything…total must have.I haven’t rocked my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Tote in a while because I always go straight to my ‘Affair Bag’ or my ‘Mini Mac Bag’ but now that I’ve worn it again I think you will be seeing a lot more of it in the new year! And last but not least…the shoes. I bought these maroon suede Calvin Klein booties over a year ago and I found them again at Lord & Taylor for just $32! Happy Monday Loves…I’m embracing Monday blues today thanks to Simply Vera Vera Wang at Kohls! My top, shoes and bag are all from her ‘Look For Less’ collection at Kohls and I’m kind of obsessed…wouldn’t you be? Designer style for half the price? There’s nothing I love more than a ‘Pop Of Color’ and this look literally pops. The shade of blue for the top and the bag match perfectly…nothing classier than a simple satchel that can go from work to play right? Especially when it’s as affordable as this one (no longer available but a similar from Big Buddha at Zappos is!).I also love a great pair of nude heels. They elongate the legs and match with absolutely everything…nothing beats a pair of shoes that can be worn with just about everything! These Vera Wang shoes are a favorite of mine (similar ones from Sam Edelman are available!). It wouldn’t be a cool ‘blue’ look without my blue tinted mirrored aviators…I will never ever get sick of them sorry loves…I know I wear them a lot but they are just great oops! You can also never go wrong with the proper bling like my favorite gold Michael Kors watch or C Wonder initial cuff.Monograms always pull a look together…it’s professional yet practical, sometimes a statement necklace is too much, but a simple monogrammed necklace is perfect for anything! I also love a great pair of white jeans for the summer…you can’t go wrong with a crisp look right? Add the blue top and your ready to head to the office…Monday Blues taking on a new meaning huh?Shop My Look Below <3

Feeling Fresh…

There’s something about the perfect mix of skincare that even beauty products like foundation and bronzer can’t enhance. Like many beauty lovers will tell you…while what makeup products you use may be important, the true beauty routine begins with your skin routine. It’s taken me a while to master this concept…I’m not afraid to admit it, but I’m the queen of concealer and coverup rather than simply using the right products underneath to try and correct any issues with my skin.

However during my recent trip to Lucky Fabb West, Olay was there promoting their new line of ‘Fresh Effects‘ products…that are light, gentle and make me feel fresh and rejuvenated in just one application! 🙂 Read more
