Someone has a case of the M O N D A Y ‘ S…ok maybe it’s me and maybe you too? :p I had one heck of a weekend + I already can’t wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend that is just 5 days away (let the countdown begin) because I need some R&R like nobody’s business 😉 (got to look forward to something, right? haha)
Saturday, I headed to the famous Laugh Factory on Sunset (still can’t believe Sunset is only 5 minutes from where I live #surreal)…since laughter is honestly the best medicine for when you are feeling drained or need a little pick me up! Yesterday I headed to Kristi’s house for a Vera Bradley themed brunch to celebrate the launch of their new candle, soaps + fragrance sets! Pretty flowers, macaroons + popcorn…made for the perfect #SundayFunday! You can see more on my SnapChat – MissyOnMadison, Twitter + Insta <3
Here are some of my current favorites from the brunch:
Back to my outfit…My brother shot this look on me back in May when we were visiting USC (in true Missy fashion I needed to share my ‘college‘ style even though I graduated college years ago haha!) But…if I was still in school…this would be a great casual look!
Since this was shot back in the spring, it was sandal season…although I still wear sandals like these (similar) even now during winter in LA (it ain’t NY cold so why not)! These sandals are from J. Crew Factory, but these silver Birkenstocks are really similar and very comfortable (is it bad I want to buy these too? #oops)!
Happy July 1st everyone! I can’t believe the 4th Of July is approaching (which is one of my favorite times of year by the way…who doesn’t love some instagram worthy fireworks paired with delicious BBQ…am I right? :p) Well this beach day look was actually shot back when I was still living on Long Island and it was taken in Huntington…one of my favorite places to go during the summer time. Looking through these photos definitely brought back some memories of home…and most specifically of how I’ve spent 4th of Julyevery year…
Happy Monday Ya’ll! Sorry if I haven’t been writing as much the past two weeks but between my trip to LA a week ago and a newrevelation that just came about, I have been overwhelmed, swamped and just needed a moment to breathe (you know you have totally had those kind of weeks :p).
Now that I got that out of the way, I wanted to pre-warn ya that today’s outfit post is far from typical. I won’t just be talking about what I am wearing because honestly the news I have to share is WAY more exciting…
With every negative comes a positive…so with the crazy snow storm NY is having comes a perfectly white backdrop that looks like something out of a movie…When I started editing photos for this post I was kinda in awe…me freezing my a** off was totally worth the beautiful outcome…I present to you a little Valentine’s Dayoutfit inspo part one!
I had to start thinking of something a little exciting in order to distract myself from this Snow Storm Juno…right now it’s 9:15 pm on 1.26 and the wind is howling, there is already a foot of snow on Long Island and I am stuck in my house till who knows when (I am simply praying it doesn’t mess up my flight to Disney on Friday). So while I am not going on a hot date for Valentine’s Day (unless cuddling with my pup Charlie qualifies as a hot date or if one of my Tinder dates becomes a success story)…that doesn’t mean I can’t feel all ‘lovey dovey‘ in a cute, festive outfit right?!
So let me break down the Valentine’s Day look: Obviously a red blouse is essential when you think ‘Valentine‘ so I found this cute top at Nordstrom Rack (similar blouses here + here). I paired it with a ‘red rose’ necklace because A) a rose for Melissa Rose (my middle name) + B) a rose necklace definitely lasts a bit longer than a bouquet of red roses! And of course a red lip is essential…
I love a feminine looking skirt…especially a little white on white action like this white faux leather skirt and white pointed toe pumps. I have been searching high and low for white pointed toe pumps everywhere and finally I found them here (for under $40)!
I fell in LOVE with this Rebecca Minkoff clutch when I spotted it at Nordstrom Rack, while I can’t seem to find links to it anywhere online, I found similar options below 🙂
Do you guys have plans for Valentine’s Day yet? If not…no worries you can still shop my look and look stylish with your gal pals sipping wine venting about dating (that’s what I may end up doing…minus the wine…a little fun fact about me…I’m turning 23 and honestly don’t like to drink…yes I am a freak of nature lol)| Click To Shop + Share My Look |
Happy Monday Lovers! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend filled with fun, relaxation and maybe like mine…a little shopping (oops…that whole saving thing…kind of a challenge for me…who is with me?). So after rebelling against my mom aka my financial advisor’s wishes of me working on saving money (did I mention I made some stops at Target, Nordstrom & Old Navy?) I figured let the rebellious behavior continue with this ‘Rebel tee‘ from Old Navy! I actually came across this outfit shoot in my iPhoto library from August! My brother and I often shoot a bunch of looks at once since we both have such busy schedules during the week to try and shoot each look daily. So although this was shot in August, this can be the perfect fall ensemble for a night out or a dressed up weekend day look. My rebel tee is from Old Navy here. I paired with with a chic white boyfriend blazer like this one here. Fall is the season of leather, vegan leather and faux leather…so I had to rock my favorite Hue leatherette leggings available here. Now to break down my favorite part of any outfit…the bag and shoes! My bag is by BCBG and it is the ‘Pop’ in the title of this post…always need a great ‘Pop Of Color’ to brighten up any look no matter what the occasion or the season. While this style is no longer available, I found a similar clutch from BCBG at Lord & Taylor on SALE now here.My heels are from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection…a bit of a throwback so since they are no longer able to be purchased, I found a practically identical pair from Nine West here. What I love about this look is that it’s a simple tee that just got dressed up by adding a simple blazer and leather leggings…my two must haves for this fall season.| Click To Shop |
