The secret to young, vibrant + hydrated skin? Easy…it’s all about using the right products + the right routine, that’s why I am excited + proud to share my results from the Olay 28 Day Challenge!

I have been switching up my skincare routine by using the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer with SPF 15 + Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel for 28 days now. I used the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer with SPF 15 every morning + the Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel every morning + night! I added these Olay skincare habits to my normal health routine. I would wake up in the morning, have a glass of green tea and then apply the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer + Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel.

It made my face feel instantly rejuvenated + hydrated! What’s better than getting ready to seize the day by feeling refreshed?!

These two products are easy to use, work on all skin types + feel great on your skin.

After a busy day filled with pollution in the air, makeup on my skin etc, the best way to unwind + refresh is with wiping away my makeup at night + then applying the Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel to keep under my eyes hydrated…preventing any dark circles after long days at the office or out with friends 😉

The Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel has reduced the dark circles and puffiness around my eyes, making me feel + look more energized – now that’s something I have been wanting for a while now!

I have combination skin meaning some days it is oily + prone to breakouts, and other days it is dry from my acne medication + needs some hydration. What has been my life saving moisturizer? The Olay Total Effects Moisturizer with SPF 15! This helps keep my skin hydrated even when I am dealing with breakouts. It is lightweight + doesn’t drown my skin and feels AMAZING!

Using the right skincare is beyond important to any healthy lifestyle. With exercise, healthy eating + keeping hydrated with plenty of water, it is imperative to keep your skin hydrated + fresh with the proper skincare products as well! I learned this throughout the Olay 28 Day Challenge!

    My Microblading Journey…

Happy Monday Babes ♥ ICYMI last weekend I took the plunge + got my eyebrows microbladed! After seeing countless reviews, videos + articles on the procedure I was nervous to say the least but the result…well you can just see for yourself 😉 Pure MAGIC if you ask me!!

Before I dive in to my life changing experience, let me give you the 411 on what exactly ‘Microblading‘ is! As defined by Wikedpedia (you know the go to source on everything haha :p luckily this isn’t a college paper so I can get away with using it as my source haha), Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. Basically it is a semi-permanent tattoo for your brows! I know it sounds scary, but let me assure you…it is life changing.

Microblading is perfect for those who aren’t makeup savvy (like myself) or those who need a defined shape for their brows. I have struggled with attempting to have perfect brows for years so when Hazel from Browgazm reached out to me and asked if I was up for trying microblading I said YES! My friends definitely tried to scare me considering it is getting a tattoo so their is a little pain (but for me it wasn’t that bad) and then there was the fear of how they would turn out…I mean it is permanent haha no one wants messy brows for life!

Luckily Hazel treated my brows as if they were works of art.

She first started by cleaning up my brows, creating a shape + mapping out where she will tattoo. It was literally like she was sketching my dream brows haha She spent a good amount of time creating the perfect arch, working with the shape I already had for my brows etc. Hazel was great at explaining every step of the process and alleviating all of my concerns.

How cool is it to see how she mapped out the brows? I loved watching every step of the way. After mapping the brows out, she began applying numbing cream to make the procedure as painless as possible.

I used to get my eyebrows threaded etc so this wasn’t that painful in my opinion. As long as your technician uses numbing cream and leaves times for it to absorb into your skin, you will be good to go! If you are extra sensitive to pain, I would suggest taking an Aleve beforehand 🙂

The process takes about 2-3 hours depending on your brows. If the technician is creating a whole new brow for you, it may take longer than someone like myself who is just getting it filled in + an arch created.

You do tend to bleed a little and get swollen from the process but that is because incisions are being made that the tattoo pigments are being deposited in. The first 3-5 days after microblading, your brows are dark but overtime they will lighten to the natural color of your brows.

It’s important to remember how to care for your brows post procedure:

1.Apply Vaseline or Aquaphor to your brows twice a day for the first week to alleviate any dryness or scabbing that will occur.

2.Avoid applying brow products or makeup within the first 10 days after your treatment (honestly it’s been a week now since I got mine done and I don’t anticipate ever having to use brow products again!)

3.Pat them with a paper towel + avoid water + moisture for the first 10 days. It’s important to give your brows time to absorb the pigmentation and keep them as dry as possible for it to fully set.

All in all I feel like this process has been life changing. I feel confident in my brows + overall look AND this saves me so much time in the morning. I used to try multiple brow products to achieve the perfect arch but with microblading I now have a path to follow so it is beyond easy to maintain (you still need to take care of the hairs that grow outside the tattoo of course).

Hazel made me feel comfortable with the process + really educated me with all that goes in to doing microblading properly, that is something I greatly appreciated as someone that was a little nervous about how it would turn out 🙂

If you are in the LA area I highly recommend Browgazm – check out all of Hazel’s channels below to see other testimonials, special offers + chat with her about how she can revolutionize your brows!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am happy to report that I am writing today’s post from sunny Los Angeles where I am officially living now! Crazy I know…I still can’t wrap my head around being on the other side of the country from my family but luckily I have my blogger gal pals here to feel like family in the interim 🙂 This post is a little flashback to one of the exciting things I did pre-leaving NY…visiting the Marilyn Monroe Spa in the Hyatt Times Square in NYC! (Had to get my last Manhattan fix in before I said ‘bye for now’).

Having a relaxing spa day before a long journey and some new beginnings was completely necessary. I got a mani/pedi and a fabulous haircut and blow out and truly had my own ‘Marilyn’ moment (all that was missing was the movie star title hehe).  Read More + Enter The Giveaway

    Long Hair Don’t Care…

missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautybloggerHappy Thursday Loves! I decided to share with you one of my quick and easy tips to have ‘blogger’ ready for hair for outfit shoots, parties and just because…no blog required I suppose 😉

I always feel most confident when I have my ‘Victoria’s Secret’ style hair as I like to call it which in my mind simply means: loose, beautiful curls that look like a million bucks without seeming like a high maintenance hair style. It took me years to perfect the picture perfect hair that I would complain to every hair dresser I wanted, but by darn I’ve got it…only took working at a hair salon for 3 years (as a receptionist) to figure out how to properly curl my hair (guess I’m a slow learner…oops)! I am totally admitting I am far from a beauty guru and I turn to other bloggers for advice all the time, but I think now I can confidently say I found the secret to the ‘sexy hair’ style that is loose curls.missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautybloggerSo let’s start with what products I use:

    1) Hot Tools 1″ Curling Iron

    2) Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

    3) Moroccanoil Finishing Spray

I swear by these products…first off I’ve had my Hot Tools Curling Iron for years and for $30 (I bought it on sale of course) it provides amazing results and is great quality…most hair styling tools end up not working after a lot of use, but this baby has yet to fail me. I got the 1 inch iron based on my hair length, I have long hair that is thin…consult the Hot Tools website or your hair stylist about which iron is right for your kind of hair! My dry shampoo is my savior. The Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo really gives you the bang for your buck. It usually retails at around $5, smells great and soaks up all the oil in your hair while also adding a little volume, texture and a great scent. Last but not least, in order to make my fabulous curls last me all day, I opt for Moroccanoil Finishing Spray. It’s light weight, flexible and smells delicious…I even spray it on days I let my hair dry naturally just for the fabulous scent. missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautybloggerNow I curl my hair the way I’ve been taught from my hair stylist friends…lesson one, dirty hair holds curls better than freshly washed hair. This may sound a little funky to you, especially if you are used to washing your hair every day, but I have a secret for you ladies…washing your hair every day actually causes it to produce more oil! Give your hair a day or two to breath (when I curl my hair it lasts me 2-3 days and I simply spruce it up with dry shampoo in the morning and touch up my curls). This varies obviously depending on the person, but for the most part rule of thumb…wash your hair and let it dry naturally the night before, day before or a few hours before you plan on curling it.

My steps below are based upon my hair being washed and naturally dried the day before!

    1) Spray Dry Shampoo a few inches away from the roots and if need be section off pieces to make sure you spray where you tend to get the most oily.  missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautyblogger2) Take about a 1 inch section of hair and clamp the piece around the barrel of the curling iron starting in the MIDDLE! Very important ladies, if you clamp it too close to the top or the bottom, the hair doesn’t curl or it doesn’t hold. missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautyblogger3) Begin turning the curling iron slowly gripping more of the hair as you rotate the iron up towards your root. missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautyblogger4) Hold the piece for about 10-15 seconds…missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautyblogger5) Slowly loosen up your grip on the iron to allow the piece to fall naturally.missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautyblogger6) Spray some finish spray or hair spray for extra hold…missyonmadison beauty hair brunette haircurling diy beautytips beautyguide hottools longhairdontcare dryshampoo hairspray photography fashionblog blog blogger beautybloggerAnd voila! Picture perfect hair in a few minutes flat!

Typically it takes me about 15-20 minutes to curl my whole head depending on how tight I want the curls or how finished I want it to look.missyonmadison beauty beautyblog hair hairstyle hairtips curlinghair longhairdontcare curledhair brunette beauty beautiful photography whitebathrobeHope my tips help you!
