    Winter Weather

    hphoto

It’s a snow filled day in NYC today and while I try and always look stylish and never want to have just a ‘comfort’ look, this weather called for some drastic measures…Uggs.

Now I have owned Uggs since I was in the 7th grade, and in middle school and high school on Long Island, they were a ‘must have’, but have ‘Uggs’ become just plain ugly? Is wearing them a sign of defeat…like you just don’t care about looking cute? I love to be stylish, don’t get me wrong, but when it snowing and freezing….isn’t the most rational thing to do to wear Uggs?

This then leads me to my next question…Can Uggs be cute and stylish? And I’m talking the classic Uggs ladies, not all the new heeled styles they have recently come out with. Think about it, can a pair of Uggs really make or break an outfit? I guess that’s for you to decide!

See how I styled Uggs for my Cozy Thanksgiving look: here

    Personal Touches

Nothing is quite as meaningful as a personalized gift. Engraving someones name or initials whether it’s jewelry, a book, a tech item or anything for that matter gives that little extra touch to show that the gift your giving had a lot of thought put into it.

I personally love having something unique to me…something no one else will have because it was personalized to my liking. Small or big, now-a-days every retailer is offering ‘personalization’ options to which consumers can make the item they are purchasing truly their own!

Here are some of my favorite personalized pieces for the season (and there after):

    1) Classic Script Monogram Necklace $100 (Available at BaubleBar)

    Mellow Yellow

    20131208-090113.jpgHappy Sunday Fashion Lovers!

I’m feeling quite bright and cheery this Sunday morning for a few reasons:

    1) I’m loving these neon yellow ‘Hue’ jeggings from Bloomingdales, showing that neon can be worn year round because come on, who wants to hide this in the back of your closet? Not me!

    2) I’m beyond excited to see my amazing boyfriend today! He’s been in Israel for 2 weeks and I’m getting him from the airport later today…that whole feeling of a giddy school girl with butterflies in her stomach…well that’s me today because I am thrilled to finally see him in person rather than just face timing every night 🙂

    3) I’m well rested from this hectic week at the FFANY Shoe Show. Although looking at all the FFANY social media it may look like fun and games, glitz and glam, and a shoe lovers dream…trade shows can definitely be exhausting when your running them, so a little R&R is always necessary!

What I love about this look is that it shows you can mix and match seasonal pieces year round. Yup, my mom definitely thought I was nuts when I ordered bright yellow jeggings, but paired with basic flats, a blue bag and an oversized sweater, I’m thinking this is a perfect fall outfit, don’t you?

    Cozy, Casual, Friday

    20131206-092256.jpg
Today is the day! The last day of the FFANY Shoe Show and it’s almost time for me to go home for the weekend and finally see my boyfriend after his two week trip to Israel (which based on his Instagram pics is gorgeous by the way)!

In true ‘Friday’ fashion I love a casual look that is also a little ‘dressy’! I got this plain black dress at Macy’s years ago, layered it with an Old Navy cardigan, added a cute belt and some high black boots and voila, an outfit!

I love this look because it can translate from day to night and is such an easy look!

Wish me luck for the last crazy day here at FFANY & Shop my OOTD below:

    Dress: Macy’s (similar: here)
    Cardigan: Old Navy (similar: here)
    Boots: H&M
    (similar from Nine West: here)
    Bag: Coach (here)

‘Lust VS. Must’ – Quilted Blue Bag

Screen Shot 2013-11-08 at 1.28.55 PM

I spotted this cobalt blue beauty on a few fashion bloggers and I instantly fell in love. Naturally I have taste for the finer things in life, however I certainly don’t have the budget to buy them, so on this week’s edition of ‘Lust vs. Must’ I bring to you the cheaper yet still chic version of the cobalt blue Chanel bag I fell head over *heels* for!

While I couldn’t find an exact price on this Chanel show stopper, I’m sure it’s in the thousands, so I found a few great options to try!

My ‘Must’ piece I actually purchased myself. It’s by the brand ‘Paradox’ available at Lord & Taylor and with all the sales and coupons only cost me $99! See how I styled it: here.

Some other great quilted blue bag options I found are also reasonably affordable. I happen to have a love for Rebecca Minkoff, especially her handbags, so I fell in love when I found her ‘Affair’ bag in blue! You can get the large version with studs at either Nordstrom or Zappos, or the ‘mini’ version without studs at Nordstrom!

If your a Michael Kors fan your in luck! Michael has a great quilted blue bag on sale at Piperlime for $213! I love the metal closure on the front and it’s also a perfect going out bag since it’s small and compact!

Paradox at Lord & Taylor: $99

Rebecca Minkoff ‘Affair Bag’ at Nordstrom or Zappos: $225

Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini Affair Bag’ at Nordstrom: $195
