    Feeling Feisty

    20140324-101833.jpg

Happy Monday Fashion Lovers! I feel like a brand new woman this morning because I officially have 20/20 vision! No more fumbling with contacts or getting dry eyes…this chick can see clearly now ย and I’ve never been happier ๐Ÿ™‚

I love this look because why not start the week off with a bang! I love a cute faux fur vest and even more so, I love a little leopard…it’s sexy, fierce and fun…you can’t beat that combination! I scored this Karen Kane vest on clearance two years ago at Lord & Taylor and still wear it religiously from season to season…not only does it keep me warm, it’s as chic as can be.

Another piece I loveeee about this look is this Michael Kors bag. As I was putting outfits together for future blog posts I found this gem in my closet and totally forgot purchasing it (#bloggerproblems). I bought this over the summer because it reminded me of the gorgeous Stella McCartney bag {Here} I wanted that I simply wasn’t ready to splurge on yet, and honestly this Michael Kors bag does just the trick and it is simply stunning for work or play!

In addition to the perfect bag, the outfit wouldn’t be complete without these fabulous nude booties from Nine West. They are comfortable, stylish and make me feel even more feisty in this simple ensemble ๐Ÿ˜‰

I feel like I’m finally ready to take the world by storm, so excuse me while I prance around NYC with perfect vision ๐Ÿ™‚

    Bye Bye Four Eyes

    20140320-084208.jpg

Today is the beginning of the end…kind of contradictory, but what I mean to say is today is the last day I will ever need to wear glasses or contacts because I am undergoing LASIK eye surgery!

I first learned I had to wear glasses because I was near-sighted (meaning I can’t read things 5 feet in front of me, never understood why near-sided means the opposite of how it sounds and vice versa…but that’s another story) when I was in 2nd grade. I was devastated as any child would be when they learned they had to wear the dreaded ‘glasses’. Now while I wasn’t a fan of having to wear them, I was a fan of driving my mother crazy when it came to choosing frames year after year, because as a fashion lover at a young age…I was most certainly not wearing one pair of frames for the rest of my public school career. I went through tons of pairs till I ventured into my Junior/Senior year of high school (I graduated a year early, hence doubling up everything in one year).

I began using contacts and was instantly thrilled and felt like a new person, however wearing them all day from school to work to play, they began to irritate my eyes and make me virtually blind as soon as 10pm rolled around. I dealt with it up till now but finally after tons of encouragement on how life changing the LASIK procedure is, I decided it was about time to ditch the dry eyes and dirty contacts covered in my eye liner and mascara for perfectly clear vision!

I am beyond excited for my procedure today, but at the same time a bit nervous. As with any procedure there’s a slim chance that something can go wrong, so here’s to hoping I don’t end up blind ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Wish Me Luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Glitz & Glam!

    20140317-093311.jpg

Happy Monday fashion lovers ๐Ÿ™‚ This look is definitely not my ‘#OOTD‘, but it’s a look that is fit for a diva…which I admit, I occasionally like to be! This is the kind of ensemble meant for a night out in NYC, going from dinner to drinks with the girls or a date night…it’s sexy, fun and makes you stand out from the crowd.

What I love most about this outfit is this skirt. Hard to believe it’s from the LC By Lauren Conrad collection at Kohls, scored on clearance for $8, but it’s true! Every time I wear it, I get nothing but compliments on it and everyone assumes it’s a ‘designer’ brand from a high end store…well the secret is out ladies, this skirt is from one of my favorite stores, Kohls! I have a thing for Lauren Conrad’s collection. All of her pieces fit me wonderfully and the prices are always reasonable…that’s a winning combination if you ask me ๐Ÿ™‚

If the skirt wasn’t chic enough, add a faux fur vest and you get instant glam! To add a little extra ‘oomph’ I paired it with some high black boots because if the look wasn’t sexy enough, these boots definitely helped do it!

I wish I was able to wear this look to the office, but I think it may be a little too much, don’t ya think? Plus it’s back to freezing again in NYC…will this bitter cold ever end? ๐Ÿ™ I want to bring out my spring wardrobe!

    Flower Power!

    20140314-110938.jpg

With the weather finally starting to feel like spring, I decided it was about time to start embracing one of my favorite things about my spring wardrobe…flowers! When you think spring you most likely think florals…and in my case neon! I love this look because it is fun, casual and it is the perfect weekend outfit.

This shirt is an oldie but a goodie, scored on clearance at Abercrombie a year ago and to freshen it up I added a white quilted vest from Old Navy. Pair it with some skinny jeans, Steve Madden cognac wedges and a bright neon bag and your ready to take spring head on ๐Ÿ˜‰

I always like to dress in a way that’s fun, easy and flirty…a look almost every fashionista can pull off! Plus, one of the best parts about spring is being able to wear color and brighten up everyone’s day with a little neon. On a side note, I’m super happy it’s Friday, TGIF! I am so ready for a relaxing weekend of boot camp classes, spinning classes (wish me luck it’ll be my first time!) and some blog photos! Hopefully the weather holds up so I can do some more spring outfit posts without totally freezing my butt off! Wish me luck ๐Ÿ™‚
