Happy Valentine’s Day ♥ Time for a sweet treat! A new heart felt look :p Ok, that’s enough for the corny Valentine’s Day related comments haha! Another year, another Vday and another cute date night look that can also be worn for any occasion to be quite honest. Whether you have a date for tonight with your boo or just your gal pals for a little Galentine’s Day celebration, a LWD (little white dress) paired with some pops of color goes a long way…
I have always been a fan of a chic little white dress, something about it makes it the perfect piece to treat as a blank canvas to really dress up with bright + colorful pieces like fuchsia pumps + a bold magenta GiGi New York clutch 😉 Even add some hot pink shades for even more added color!
I’m not sure about you but even if you aren’t spending V-Day with a significant other today, snacking on chocolates + treating yourself to some diamonds is always a pretty solid way to celebrate this day of love / romance ♥
Nothing says I am ready for date night quite like a LBD ♥ Although I am currently single, one of the only things I enjoy about dating is being able to get dressed up for a nice night out. Whether it is dinner at the newest LA hotspot or heading to a comedy show or concert, I tend to dress for success haha :p What can I say, I am a girly girl through and through 😉
Wearing a Little Black Dress has been my go to for every special occasion (big or small) since it is just timeless + classic. You can never go wrong with a great LBD and then just add a blazer, a moto or denim jacket or a cardigan to dress the look up or down – one key piece with the ability to be styled multiple ways…what gets better than that?
I actually found this floral cardigan for only $10 at Burlington (it’s Philosophy and I was pretty stunned / thrilled when I found i on the clearance rack). When you aren’t sure of where your date may be or even if you will be heading out after work, I like to layer a cardigan with a little black dress so the ensemble is classy but not overly dressy and leaves a little room for a casual feel as well (just pick shoes to best match your mood of course :p).
This pairing is somewhat in between ‘dressy‘ and ‘casual‘ making it a great look to replicate with just a few signature pieces you will want to mix + match within your wardrobe for the rest of 2017!
The lighting is a little off in these shots because I made the mistake of venturing out to shoot during the day…bad idea haha Now I know why although it is a pain in the you know what, it is well worth it to wake up at 5am to shoot first thing in the morning before the sun is too bright 😉 #TheStruggleIsReal If you ever thought blogging was a walk in the park, let me be the first to tell ya…it’s not :p
Despite the lighting, the look itself is on point…
I can’t honestly remember where I purchased this dress but I found a few similar options below along with two cardigan options since mine was a stroke of luck clearance find that I haven’t been able to track down online anywhere else.
All options are budget friendly at under $50!
I kept my shoes + bag classic black and simple as well – you can never go wrong with the basics 😉
I am back in NY to spend the holidays with my family…so that means cuddling up with the cutest dogs ever (we have two King Charles Cavaliers – follow along on Insta Stories to totally melt – @MissyOnMadison) + plenty of arguing / ball busting…yea my family isn’t the warm and fuzzy kind…much more of the love/hate kind haha Nonetheless, it’s always nice to be back to be home + in a ‘New York State of Mind‘. Before I left for NYC, I headed to Pasadena to shoot this festive holiday look (because seriously, how great is this Christmas tree they have at City Hall?! Kinda amazing!)
I am all about dressing festive for the Holidays…but also comfortably! When I found this green velvet dress from Zaful, I fell in LOVE! It is the perfect dress to slip into no matter what your holiday plans are and the velvet fabric makes it soft to the touch + comfy enough to spend the whole night in!
I clearly have a thing for mixing materials! I am definitely into velvet this season, but I will always be a fan of faux fur as well. These faux fur heels are the perfect combination of sexy + sweet. They add a little festive fun to any look (not to mention they do double as a sexy little pair to wear for date night :p hehe) Gotta love when one pair of heels serve multiple purposes!
My Vera Bradley faux fur clutch is currently on sale + makes for the perfect accessory to add a little sass to any look!
It also comes with a cross body strap for those nights you don’t want to hold a clutch all night long 😉
Daniel Wellington has been popping up all over Instagram so when they asked if I would like to try one of their watches out I figured ‘hey, why not :p‘. Their watches are amazing! Classic, chic + they match with everything perfectly!
Happy Monday! I am currently writing this at 1am because I kind of spent my entire weekend relaxing which left the blogging to last minute procrastination (oops :p). Any who, don’t mind me if I begin to ramble or seem a bit delirious while writing this post haha…You may wonder what I spent the weekend doing that lead to this late night post, well it’s simple…I officially got sucked in to Netflix. Yup, guilty as charged haha I have watched every episode of: Malcolm In The Middle, Family Guy, American Dad, Law and Order SVU, How To Get Away With Murder, Grounded For Like, The Office, 48 Hours, Dateline + now currently working on Last Man Standing (amazing show btw…Mandy is completely me, Mike Baxter is my dad + Eve is my little sister to a T).
My dad has been telling me to watch this show for years now + finally after exhausting all of my other go-to shows, I decided to give in + now I am obsessed (which pretty much happens to all things he recommends haha #ThanksDad). So there goes my weekend, watching my newest obsession + therefore me writing this Holiday Style Post at 1am while I am dosing off haha
One of my favorite trends to wear around the holidays is a great sweater dress. This sweater dress is from a year ago but I found two similar options below.
To make it a bit edgy, I layered over a faux leather moto jacket (a piece every gal should have in their closet to be completely honest) + I love that it really pulls the look together.
These nude caged heels have been a fav of mine since the summer + they match with absolutely everything.
My gold bag perfect for the holiday season is from Mezza Notte! I love the design + the chic look that makes it ideal for family get togethers, a night out + more.
The HOLIDAYS are Here! I seriously can’t believe how fast this year has been going by! Feels like just yesterday was summer (perks of living in LA, no seasons means endless sunshine year round haha). It’s been a year and a half since I moved to LA from NY and boy has it been a crazy ride. Moving from Weho to Burbank, switching up my career from in house to agency life, changing from beauty + fashion to luxury lifestyle…this year has been full of surprises (mainly good, a few eh, but overall…amazing)!
Anyways, one of the exciting clients I work with is the Rodeo Drive Committee (pretty suiting for a gal who loves the finer things in life, huh? :p) To kick off the holiday season, tomorrow is the annual Beverly Hills ‘Holiday Lighting Celebration’ where Rodeo Drive lights up with street performers, festive treats + celeb performances!
In addition to working on this fun event, I have been promoting the charitable endeavor of Rodeo Drive this holiday season with the #RodeoGivesBack initiative! Beverly Hills is a pretty amazing community, the people truly are amazing and I have had the pleasure of meeting so many of them who have in turn, really taught me about the history Beverly Hills + Rodeo Drive holds (call me a nerd, but seeing old photos of Rodeo Drive + the Beverly Wilshire pre–RHOBH is pretty cool if you ask me :p).
One of the best parts about the holiday season is giving back to those in need. Rodeo Drive is helping to give the gift of warmth by partnering with the Salvation Army to collect coat donations throughout November + December! How great is that? This has been just one of the amazing projects I get to work on. I planned a little photo shoot at the Beverly Wilshire with some of my favorite blogger babes to get the word out about this great campaign!
What’s better than giving back around the holidays? Makes the holiday season so much brighter!
Now to break down this holiday look! I have had a love affair with this black tulle skirt for years now. It just reminds me of something Carrie Bradshaw would wear (in fact I did a whole shoot wearing it in front of the New York Public Library here).
I think this skirt is great for the holiday season. You can style it with a simple blouse (like this one) or wear a crop top + leather jacket for an edgier look (the possibilities are endless)!
I love these T-Strap Black Heels for the holiday season. I feel like they are such chic classics!
My clutch is actually a toiletry pouch from Louis Vuitton. I seriously LOVE this and even though it has been sold out at all of the LV boutiques I was able to find it with the help of LYST!
