Well…almost that is hehe Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching + whether you will be celebrating with your boo, hanging with friends or simply giving yourself some much needed self love, a great way to get in a romantic state-of-mind is with a new look featuring the signature colors of Valentine’s Day…RED + PINK ♥
While I love all of the flowers + chocolate, I definitely don’t love the crowds at all the restaurants and bars on Valentine’s Day, so this year Mike + I are celebrating Valentine’s Day early while we are on vacation in Florida BUT I will for sure be treating myself to some of the pieces below to wear for the romantic evening. Even if you don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day, one of the funnest things to do is plan a girls night with your crew – anyone heading to happy hour followed by the new Fifty Shades? I kinda am excited to do that as well haha :p
2 0 1 7 is coming to a close + while I am excited for all 2018 has to offer, I am reminiscing about the amazing year I just had. From finding my soul mate to traveling internationally, 2017 has been pretty awesome if I say so myself.
If you told me last year at this time that I would find my partner in crime, travel to London + Paris, buy my first Chanel AND get my first Mercedes, I would say NO WAY…but as 2017 ends tomorrow I am beyond happy that it is all true. I couldn’t have asked for a better year, seriously and with 2018 off to a bright start, it’s time to think about what to wear for tomorrow’s midnight countdown!
I am still in London with Mike so I am most likely not wearing a dress because it is FREEZING here currently, but I will for sure be rocking this fuzzy jacket and sparkle Betsey Johnson platform heels (because it wouldn’t be NYE without a little sparkle).
My velvet obsession has extended well past Thanksgiving and Christmas and now it is perfect for NYE. I will be wearing velvet tomorrow (a top) as a cold alternative to the dress I am wearing here. Old Navy has continued to be my go-to for holiday style because of it’s selection and price!
This fuzzy jacket is another obsession of mine. Any warm + fuzzy jacket is a friend of mine. I found two alternatives below (one is under $40, the other is a bit pricier at $180) both are super stylish for winter weather + events!
My heels are currently on sale at Macy’s + are the PERFECT shoe to wear for NYE, Valentine’s Day, your Birthday and beyond…they sparkle + are comfy…I call that a WIN!
With Thanksgiving this week + the holidays quickly approaching, it’s time to get your holiday party looks ready to go! My current obsession this holiday season? VELVET! All kinds – from handbags, to shoes to dresses to pants, tops, bodysuits + more, I am loving velvet + everything that comes in it!! I rounded up my favorite velvet pieces from some of my go-to retailers (which will be running amazing deals for Black Friday + Cyber Monday, so now is the time to snag these beauties). Ready to get your velvet on? 😉
Dresses
Searching for the perfect dress to wear to your office holiday party, family get together or NYE night out? Well, a velvet dress is the way to go! Honestly, I already stocked up on a few velvet dresses to wear this holiday season (including one velvet dress I fully intend on wearing to ring in 2018)!
I picked out a bunch of velvet dresses that range from long maxi styles to mini dresses + everything in between, this way there is an option for every event you will be heading to this season. A shorter style to wear out for happy hour (after spending a few too many days at home with the fam), a long sleeve mid-length dress appropriate enough to wear tooffice gatherings + some longer styles that work perfectly for a winter wedding.
Tops + Bottoms
If you aren’t a ‘dress person’ or you simply love velvet as much as I do + want to style it a few different ways, separates are a great option.
From a chic pair of velvet pants to a fun velvet body suit, mixing + matching velvet pieces with regular pieces can help you create a few different holiday looks without looking like a repeat offender! My personal favorites are these velvet pants + this velvet body suit.
Bags
My favorite part of any outfit? The shoes + bag…duh! Velvet bags are all over the place this season, from Gucci to Rebecca Minkoff, there are all types of velvet bags to rock this season at all price points! Which one am I lusting after? The Gucci Marmont bag of course hehe :p
Shoes
Ohhh the shoes…I love these velvet beauties so much. From over the knee boots to booties to heels + more, I fully plan on rocking velvet shoes well past the holiday season #sorrynotsorry. I mean, how could you not? They are so chic + stylish…pretty sure I am in serious love with these gold velvet booties from the Chrissy Teigan x Revolve collab.
P.S. A lot of the styles above will be going on sale starting tomorrow for the Black Friday + Cyber Monday sales on Revolve, Nordstrom, Macy’s + more!
Let the countdown begin!Thanksgiving is just days away + that means time to come up with exciting topics to chat about at dinner with family and/or friends + most importantly what to wear! I am getting myself on track with healthy eating + portion control this season, so what better way to be mindful of what you are eating on Turkey Day than by wearing skinny jeans that will be sure to let ya know when you’ve had enough stuffing for one night hehe :p
I had to dress up the jeans with a little hint of orange because I always think ‘orange‘ when I think Thanksgiving. The perfect top? This ruffle asymmetrical sweater from Pleione. It is cozy, stylish + isn’t too dressy for a family lounge session after dinner but also isn’t too sloppy to be seated next to grandma at the dining room table haha…
These jeans are super comfy because they are a jegging like material but they also button so they give ya the warning when chowing down on delicious turkey.
If you are in a cooler place for the holidays, this top is great to layer with a faux fur vest as well! When I was in NY I always opted for a vest because…why not right? 😉
This Louis Vuitton Pouchette Metis bag is my obsession + I highly recommend it to be on your holiday wish list however tracking this beauty down is a bit of a challenge because it is currently a year long wait list for it (no joke) haha However they have similar styles available now at certain LV locations.
These nude ankle strap heels are amazing. Not only do they match with everything but they are great for dressed up or casual occasions.
My sunnies are from Diff Eyewear! I have been dying to try out their sunnies so when these beauties got sent my way I was beyond excited! These ones will be on sale for Black Friday so be sure to snag yours as a ‘gift to you‘ next weekend!
Happy Monday! ♥ I hope you all had a great weekend (I know I sure did!…ICYMI I headed to Six Flags for some much needed thrills – you can see more on my Insta Stories @MissyOnMadison). It’s crazy to think it’s already April and we all know what that means…Easter is right around the corner! I love the spring and spring holidays because they provide the perfect excuse to wear some pretty pastel hues + dresses (much like this halter printed dress from Shop The Mint). I have been a fan of the halter style for years since it pretty much accentuates every female body type + is just so feminine and sweet for Sunday brunch, girls nights + beyond.
I couldn’t sport a pastel dress without wearing it in the presence of a colorful wall of course 😉 haha So I headed to the Saguaro in Palm Springs + found the perfect mix of colorful walls I ever did see! Shop The Mint has a great variety of dresses for every occasion. Whether it is prom, a birthday, a wedding or beyond, they have got you covered on chic dresses at an affordable price!
