And this everyone is my happy place…Rodeo Drive…California’s version of 5th avenue with a lot less crowding and a beautiful temperature year round (I guess it’s safe to say I have yet to miss NYC huh? :p) I actually shot this before I was even fully living in LA. My little brother and I ventured around Rodeo one morning during our vacation a few weeks ago and I kinda forced him to shoot this outfit because yes…I wasn’t wearing ‘designer‘ on Rodeo but hey I think it still looked pretty damn cute!
I was pretty surprised when I perused around Rodeo because A) it was pretty quiet + B) because it wasn’t this fantasy world where the streets are paved with gold and diamonds and the women shopping are decked in head to toe Chanel :p I guess I had some mis-conceptions but it’s safe to say I love the area and it made for a perfect backdrop for an otherwise casual outfit! Although, I did have a ‘Pretty Woman’ moment where my brother and I walked into YSL and I wanted to snap a photo of the display (because hello it was gorgeous) and they had a nasty attitude and said no…well no problems there, in true Julia Roberts fashion we popped next door into Gucci and made a purchase…and all I wanted to do was go back into YSL and say ‘You work on commission right? Big Mistake, Huge’…but Matthew opted to not do that option haha
California I thought, was always supposed to be hot…well leave it up to me to be in Cali when it’s ‘June Gloom’ and actually calls for a sweater or two haha…at least if I am going to wear an oversized sweater…it may as well incorporate a ‘pop’ of color…I found this one at Old Navy but found a few similar styles here, here + here. I paired it over a pair of white cotton shorts (although from the looks of the pictures it appears I am wearing nothing under the sweater #WhoLikesShortShorts)
Something I’ve noticed over the past few weeks is that I am starting to like the photos people shoot of me that are ‘candid‘…you know, the ones where I am laughing hunched over (see above) or where I am in mid-hair flip or pointing at something…those awkward ‘funny’ moments captured on camera are beginning to make me smile more than the perfectly posed looks that I have been doing since I began blogging…maybe it’s time to switch it up and just not give a damn about my ‘good‘ side or what best shows the outfit…how about what best shows my quirky, out there personality? 😛
Something I do always enjoy showing however? My shoes + handbags (duh) haha Yes, I have completely over-worn this cobalt blue Kenneth Cole satchel but it’s because I am genuinely obsessed with it to the point that I feel like it goes perfectly with every single outfit I wear haha Hey isn’t that the point of an ‘investment bag‘? Shoe wise…these espadrille wedges are life…they are comfortable, match with everything and are my easy go to in the morning when I want to dress up a look but not have my feet in pain by the end of the day.
And yes…again with the blue mirrored aviators from Ray Ban…I can’t get enough of them…especially here in Cali.
