Last night I had the pleasure of helping to fight cancer with other blogging fashionistas at Chelsea Piers in NYC by creating DIY turbans! While I am far from artsy or crafty, I figured if it helps fight cancer I’m on board!

IFB and the Fashion Fights Cancer organization brought a bunch of bloggers together to make and create turbans. Yes, needle and thread status. Buttons, fabric, ribbon and more…these turbans became quite ‘unique’…especially mine which I have to admit I am to embarrassed to share :p!

While the art part wasn’t neccesarilly up my ally, I definitely loved finally getting to head to Chelsea Piers for the first time! It’s such a gorgeous space and I loved seeing the boats, deck and look out at the water while attempting to create something pretty 🙂What I loved about the event is all the fun colors, embellishments and patterns provided for us fashionistas to choose from. I felt like I was asked to be a part of a challenge on Project Runway…let’s just say it’s a good thing Tim Gunn wasn’t standing over me…because what I was making was far from ‘Making It Work’ haha! They had ladies there creating turbans out of different fabrics and then us ladies and gents got the chance to style with with out unique vision. At the end of the night, the different turbans were auctioned off for charity. Truly fashion for a cause!Check out more from Fashion Fights Cancer <3
