The toughest thing after a nice relaxing weekend is heading back to the normal ‘rise + grind’ on a Monday. No matter how long you are working for, the struggle
never gets easier and it is in fact ‘real‘ 😉 I spent this past weekend in Palm Springs (if you follow me on SnapChat you got to see my random shenanigans…and if you don’t follow me well now you should duh! — this way you don’t miss out next time hehe – MissyOnMadison). After relaxing by the pool in the middle of a 90 degree desert it kind of made me never want to leave (can you blame me?)…although I would have loved to stay forever…I had to come back to reality…LA.
Speaking of reality…let me get back to what I do best…dishing on my outfits (hey everyone has their specialty…mine happens to be yapping about shoes, handbags and trends that can actually be worn without looking absolutely
insane…it’s a tough fete but someone has to do it :p)
I am still now over my hat phase. I continually wear this floppy hat from Nordstrom (PS great floppy hat styles on sale now for their annual Anniversary sale!) on the daily (it’s very ‘LA’) apparently. The style here is very laid back (and in Palm Springs even more so…Coachella is a year round style there…no joke) so a simple chiffon camisole like this one from Kohls paired with a comfy pair of Target denim is ideal and has become my go to for work (have I mentioned my office is super casual?…because it is…complete opposite of NY style).
And again, I am wearing my new favorite ring from the Pink Monogram <3 I love it so much and is perfect for any occasion…plus it’s a great way to add a personal touch to your bling rotation.
One of my favorite parts of this outfit is my shoe and accessory game…they truly made the outfit for an other wise ‘simple + casual’ look. This Lacoste satchel in navy is perfect for fall and who would of thought it compliments purple so well? Happy surprise!
To brighten up the look further I added these great sunglasses which to be completely honest I was iffy about at first but I think paired with the right look they are awesome! What do you guys think?
Last but not least (they do say save the best for last right?)…my fabulous shoes! I have been searching high and low for the perfect mules I can wear year round (since I am in LA open toe shoes year round is a ‘thing‘ and isn’t looked down upon…clearly my ‘sole‘ reason for moving here haha). I love these Nina Originals ‘Scamp’ mules in champagne. They are comfortable (I wore them for business trips to San Francisco…my weekend in Palm Springs and also to work all the time) and they match with absolutely EVERYTHING! No more morning struggle of what shoes match my outfit…rose gold will always ‘work‘!
