Happy Friday Loves! What better way to get fancy for your Friday night plans than with some killer hair accessories? At Lucky Fabb I had the pleasure of meeting Jen who a personal stylist and social media guru for France Luxe…a site that sells some of my favorite hair accessories, L. Erickson! From headbands to barrettes to clips and more, these hair gems take it to the next level…just look for yourself at some of my favorites below {click each item to shop direct} π
1. Orange Pony Cuff // 2. Cameo Barrette // 3. Bow Tie Pony // 4. Purple Studded Pony Cuff // 5. Grab and Go Pony Holders // 6. Patterned Pony Holders // 7. Bow Headband
I loved the two pieces Jen helped me choose and my trustee friend Nicole helped me style them! Check out the fun we had playing hairdresser <3
The first piece Nicole and I styled was this chic Cameo Headband, followed by the Cameo Pony Tie! I love both for everyday wear or even a special occasion. While you can wear each piece with your natural hair, we decided to have fun with some curls!
Ladies if you have trouble curling your hair or having it last….trust me I’ve been through it all, so I have a few helpful hints π Courtesy of my lovely hairdresser Nicole <3
1. Curls hold best when your hair is dirty…yes this may sound a little nasty ladies but I mean it. Curls stay in place when your hair has a little volume, a little oil and when it isn’t freshly washed. I usually try curling my hair the day after I washed it. Also, I have found that dry shampoo works wonders…simply spray it at your roots and it gives a little extra volume and helps hold the curls in my opinion <3
2. Find the right curling iron for your hair…this is key! I can’t tell you how many curling irons I own since I was a teen because I never could figure out which works best for my hair. Different hair lengths and thickness require a different size iron. Currently I’m using a 1″ iron but those with shorter hair may require a 3/4″ or a 1/2″ iron. My suggestion? Ask your hairdresser which iron works best for the look your trying to achieve. If your aiming for tight curls, go for a smaller sized iron…if your looking for simple beach waves, a larger iron may be right for you!
3. Begin curling from the middle…the most important lesson I’ve learned! It used to take me forever to curl my hair and the curls never ever stayed. I would start from the bottom or the top and the curls dropped within an hour or so. When I finally began curling from the middle, the curls lasted all day! Simply pick a section of hair and place the iron in the middle, not too close to the root or the edge of your hair and slowly begin wrapping the piece around your iron, making sure to get it all in the clasp to avoid fishtail ends π
The finished products…I love the simple curls Nicole did on my hair, not to mention the simple accessories that I continued wearing the rest of the day to run errands followed by a GNO in the Big Apple π
You know Nicole and I had to do a selfie in the midst of styling…what else are girls to do while playing hairdresser? π
